Why can’t they coach defense?

it's just a soft conference

they recruit soft kids from TX who are in scheme that put all the emphasis on offense

I think this is a shot at LSU, but I'm not certain.

They produce a ton of flashy players

Many of which have done very good. On offense. Because it is flashy.

Defense?

Never even bother with it

That game was ridiculous. I bet Texas and Texas Tech's QB combined for over 600 yards passing.

Yea, don’t get me wrong, they’re very skilled, but they’ve been playing a version of football that’s basically the equivalent of flag football since middle school. It emphasizes speed and quickness over strength and toughness.

It’s hard to unlearn or change that mentality.

Then why does Texas produce the best defensive players in the country every year?

TX produces a lot of talent every year. Some are going to hit. Many of the successful ones don't go to the Big12, also.

Lots of TX kids in the SEC, Big10, ACC, etc.

Well LSU proved today it's not so easy stopping Air Raid hurry up everyone is spread sideline to sideline and basically everyone in the Big12 plays like this so their defenses look like shite.

If you have less talent you can expose anyone.

Funny how a lot of those soft kids can go out of the state and toughen up. Several Texas QBs have made it big. So many players from that state go to LSU and produce.

LSU also proved last year how quickly that can backfire on you. See the CFB SemiFinal. People are crowning Leach for beating a JV LSU team. Let’s get a little bigger sample size.

At least the Big 12 plays and coaches. That's more then you can say about the Big 10 or Pac 12.

Could be a great conference again with Nebraska, Mizzou, and Colorado coming back in and adding the Arizona schools, maybe SC.

I'd rather have competitive teams in every major sport like the Big 8 years and be able to get in my car and reasonably travel to road games and conference tournaments once again.

LSU gave up 44 points. Both t.u. and Texas Tech gave up 56 EACH in regulation.
