For the Saints, it's the obvious railroading B.S. that was Bounty Gate.

For LSU fans, it was the name forever known as Refgate.

Same origin for every other sports team ever?

Fan is short for fanatic, every team has that subsection of fans who are irrational, including LSU/Saints.
