being such a skill thing people come out of the weeds later in life all the time. Combined with young talent it just gets more and more competitive.
But my answer is still NFL RB. Do it now, or in two weeks you might never play another down of football in your life.

i would argue that EVERY single streetball point guard thinks he belongs in the league if he can cross over somebody...

PGA Tour players that are ranked 80 - 125 mid way though the season.
There is no mercy and you have every guy 126 and greater gunning for the same tour card as you.
There is a huge difference in the PGA Tour and the web.com tour when it comes to money, sponsorships, support network, amenities, etc.

In baseball, it has to be second base over SS to me. You compete against all SS that have slightly less of an arm. You compete against SS that are slightly slower.
There are like 10+ pitchers per team. There ain't that many second basemen.
Like most positions in BB, hitting is the fastest way to find a position.

The thing about kickers is there is a lot of turnover at the position. Guys get chances all the time. At punter, there's hardly any turnover. Once a guy gets a punting job, he's probably set, but to actually get one of those jobs is super competitive.

NFL kicker and punter
Seriously. They may not be the most athletically talented, but I'd say it's the most competitive. Only 64 spots total between kickers and punters.
Some of the best and most accomplished guys from college spend years flying around the country for try outs and never so much as make it to training camp because there's only so many spots to go around.
On top of that, it's insanely easy to lose your spot since there's so many guys waiting for a chance. One mistake can make millions hate you and take you from pro bowl to no career in the blink of an eye.
Sometimes you don't even have to make a mistake to lose your job. You can be doing great and get hurt and if your replacement does well then too bad for you. Happened to Cody Parkey. He was Pro Bowl as a rookie, got hurt his second year and his "backup" kept the job when Parkey got back. Parkey bounced around several teams after that struggling to find a place and had to settle with the worst team in the league, the Browns.

Didn't Jeremy Lin play like 5 minutes in 4 years before he got a chance with the Knicks after everyone in front of him got hurt?
No... he got his chance with the Knicks in his 2nd year and played nearly 300 minutes as a rookie with the Warriors

For kickers and punters, you have a much broader range of age, thus more folks to compete against. You compete against 35 year old kickers, but no way you are competing against 35 year old rbs
