I'm a casual basketball fan. I only watch the NBA during the playoffs and I do enjoy the Olympics.

Does the NBA have more driving the lane and International is more shooting?

Also...what is the biggest reason why the U.S. lost in the 2004 Olympics? Too many egos? Overconfident? Internationals used to shooting from a 3 point line that is closer to the goal?

NBA is more individual based while international focuses more on team strategy.

I think on international rules the refs aren't as stingy on fouls which makes it harder to drive.

International basketball isn't street ball.

Different lane.
Goal tending is allowed.
Different shot clock.
Zone defense is allowed.

lack of familiarity with each other and the international game, and a flawed roster. the team had a bunch of new guys since most of the players that had been playing on Team USA the previous summers decided not to play. they were replaced with young guys that Larry Brown didn't play like Lebron, Melo and Wade. there wasn't much in the way of outside shooting on the team, and that hurt a bit too when opponents just zoned em up.

Try again. It may not have been street ball back when Jordan, Bird, etc. were playing, but have you watched a game recently? Take the referees away and I'm sure you couldn't tell the difference between NBA and street ball.

what, exactly, constitutes street ball? what is the difference in that and your preferred style?

lots of allegations, but little evidence

the NBA isn't even dependent on the iso game anymore with the rules hurting perimeter defense. there was a period where the NBA became super defensive and the iso game was preferred, but that's 90s/00s (which included teh end of the bulls run for most teams) ball

the main reason why the NBA got uglier was due to one thing: amazing man defense.

the main reason the euro game has more passing is due to one thing: shitty man D and lots of zone defense

the mid-late 90s and early 00s also just simply had a big talent gap. lots of busts
