I think it's a dumb discussion for people who are starving for attention. No one turns the TV on to an NFL game saying "I'm gonna watch some sport today"

We don't do it for Nascar either

Of these four, I think swimming is the only sport because it requires physical ability and provides entertainment.

The rest (golf, darts, bowling, NASCAR) seem to be games because they primarily don't require physical endurance/ability and they lean more towards entertainment/amusement.

He is relegated to #3 at Hendricks right now. Johnson and Junior have the better crew chief and crew.

It isn't a coincidence that his slide really got bad when Junior joined HMS.

Driving 3+ hrs in a car going 150+ mph with the temp on the track well above 100 doesn't take endurance? I understand the "not a sport" debate, but to say there's no endurance in NASCAR is crayzee.

Flying a plane going over 600mph for 10 hours takes even more endurance. But it's more mental endurance than physical-this is why I said in NASCAR, darts, bowling etc, physical endurance isn't the primary requirement.

I have come to think the same. Also, and I know some bigger NASCAR fan than myself will probably blow me up on this, but it seems like over the last 10-15 years (at least), it is kind of a young man's game. Gordon, Smoke, Johnson, all of em seemed like they peaked after they had been in the game for just a little while. Then, as they got a few years into their 30s, they just kind of lost a bit of that killer instinct. There are exceptions, of course, but as a broad trend...

If you can drink a 12 pack of beer and still perform well, it's not a sport.

My theory- after years of racing, the G forces have distended Gordon's vagina.

Tony won two years ago. I would hardly say he peaked.

I think part of it is the chase changed everything.

They talked about the Chase the other day.

Gordon would have two more titles if the chase didn't exist.

And I think they said Johnson would only have one.

I know, but isn't that kind of the exception to the rule? He dominated much more in the final pre-Chase years, then had a hot year and pulled off a championship a few years back. But if you look at any (say) consecutive four year sample, Tony's best years are behind him.

Tony hasn't been the same since he left Gibbs. That is probably part of your problem right there. Kind of like when Bill Elliot lost his crew chief for umm, personal reasons.

Since Hemingway was a hundred times more intelligent than you and far more eloquent and witty...I'll trust his take over yours.
