There is a very real chance wisconsin may end up with one top 25 win all year. There is an equally real chance they get left out as an undefeated conference champ

I know it will suck, but 13-0 Wisconsin is in.

Yes,

12-0 Bama
11-1 Georgia (Loss to Bama)
Notre Dame 11-1
Clemson 12-1

or

12-0 Bama
13-0 Miami
11-1 Georgia (Loss to Bama)
12-1 Oklahoma

all should make it ahead of a 13-0 Wisconsin.

It would be a dangerous precedent to reward a team for scheduling cupcakes.

and this wasn't even "we thought they'd be good" OOC scheduling

yup. it would honestly ruin OOC scheduling for the foreseeable future.

why schedule a P5 team from another conference and risk losing a game if it doesnt matter?

just schedule:

Utah State
Florida Atlantic
BYU

If Bama loses one game, they will have a hard time getting in. Their schedule is weak.

I just can't see it man. Just can't.
They wouldn't be deserving, but they would be in. Also, remember who is on the committee.

The only way they wouldn't make it is if a tattoo gate/ Sandusky scandal happened. LOL at the sec runner up getting in over them. I hope all those teams win out and Bama loses close to Georgia. When Wisconsin gets in over them it'll be hilarious

State, LSU, Auburn will all probably finish in the top 25, though.

Plus, if they did lose to Georgia, that would be the best loss in the country.

Also, I'm sure there's a lot of metrics that would still support Alabama being a top 4 team in the country even if they lose in the SECCG.

If they leave an undefeated P5 out for a mulligan, it'll destroy the entire concept of P5.

It ain't happening.
Wisconsin is too banged up.

Top safety is out.
Top linebacker is out.
Top receiver is out.
3Rd linebacker is out.
2Rd receiver is out.

If we win out I will be surprised. And our freshman tailback will be a strong heisman candidate.

Ha whatever you say little guy. For the record I don't think they will win out but if they do they'll make it, especially considering there's no way all those teams win out anyway.

There is a very good chance that either of the scenarios outlined in the OP happen

Well considering ND and Georgia are both only favored by 3 this week, and that's just this week, I'd say the odds are less than 10%

Would it change your tune at all if it wasn't for a mulligan?

13-0 SEC Champ Georgia or Alabama
11-1 Notre Dame
12-1 ACC Champ Clemson
12-1 Big 12 Champ Oklahoma or TCU

Clemson would have about 9 wins against POWER 5 teams who will finish at least .500. Wisconsin would have about 4.

If Notre Dame wins out, they are definitely ahead of Wisconsin in the pecking order.

I would guess Wisconsin would have a decent chance to be sent ahead of 12-1 Oklahoma/TCU, but I'm not sure if they'd actually have a better resume.

if Notre Dame loses, that just moves it to the other scenario with Miami finishing 13-0, FWIW.

Miami would be an underdog against Clemson in the ACC title game, though.
