That's what they always said about TM7. That his real talent was getting wasted at LSU.

ISWYDT.

But TM7 will be in the league a hell of a lot longer than Shep.

I haven't seen this posted.

Russell Shepard says he “signed” with Eagles during draft

quote:

This year, it’s LSU receiver Russell Shepard, who claims that he agreed to terms with the Eagles before the draft ended.

“I actually took myself off the draft board during the draft,” Shepard told WNXX radio, via LouisianaDaily.com. “Teams started calling me probably in the middle of the sixth round asking me ‘Is it true that you’ve signed with a team already?’ and I actually got it out of the way before the draft was over, because that was the perfect fit for me.”

The host asked for clarification, and Shepard gave it.

“I signed with them before the draft was over,” Shepard said, explaining that after he fell through round five he decided to focus on the Eagles. Shepard believes he’ll play receiver, running back, and Wildcat quarterback in Philly’s offense, and that he’ll return kicks and punts and play gunner on the punt team.

That would be awesome. I would root for him to succeed. Frick what he did or didn't do in college. I don't think Kelly gives a rip whether or not LSU "wasted" him. He sees a player that he is going to try to fit for his team. Good luck Shep.

I laughed hard when he said Chip already had packages designed around him.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he succeeds and makes the roster. But you can tell how hard he is out to proved he was misused at LSU

This.

He talked like he's spoken with Chip extensively about plans for the offense. Dude you were an UDFA, shut up

I think there were better ways to use shep at LSU

But I also don't think he's all that great of a football player either. Great HS highlight tape though....

I agree

Even after 4 years in a perfect system I dont really see a place for Shep in the NFL. Dude is like a Buck 80 soaking wet and isnt really compact like a Welker or Tavon Austin type. Hes just lankey

Russel Shepard is a great athlete.

He is not, however, a good football player. Was a he used to fullest extent of his potential at LSU? Probably not but after four years the guy still couldn't get open and catch the ball. I highly doubt that changes in the NFL.

I hope I'm wrong. I want nothing but the best from that kid

In the slot?

There is a 0.0% chance he starts at QB, ever.

If true, Shepard just got the eagles in trouble. Not a good move before you even take the field.

I think you are going to see a new age in pro football, where QBs are treated like running backs. Just keep them coming, wave after wave.

get ready NFC east

Chip Kelly staaaaacked!

go birds!
