why should it?
they (OSU) are a great team... and OU was beated twice in national championship games recently... from the same conference nebraska got handled a little before that...
and it doesn't have much to do with what conference those teams were from IMO... just that they were all beaten by the best team in teh country

118 teams could have been beaten by the best in the country... the point is OSU got into those games because their conference and schedule was a joke.. .thus they had inflated records and were demolished by teams with inferior records.

Only if you now want another team from another conference to be dominated by an SEC team. Seriously, whose spot is tOSU taking that deserves it? USC is 1-1 in NCGs, OU is 1-2 in NCG's and Va Tech is 0-1. tOSU is 1-2 now. Who else is out there getting screwed?

I have no problem with you, your premise however is flawed.
In 2003 the #1 team in both polls was left out of the BCS CG, the next year and team went undefeated and did not play in the BCS CG, if those 2 did not lead to a playoff, what makes you think OSU losing to a team from the SEC in the BCS CG 3 strait years would? Right now its more likely that the Big 10, Pac 10 and the Rose Bowl drop of the BCS than they would agree to a playoff.

In my mind OU was a better team and deserved the NCG over USC in 2003. They had more wins against better opponents and lost to stronger opponent. Had OU lost in October and USC lost it's last game of the year the point would be moot.
The "body of work" OU had in 2003 was superior to that of USC.
The OU defense in 2003 was awesome. If OU has a QB that isn't crippled and could throw we would have lost that game.

No what's moronic is this idiot claiming Ohio State will be #1 next year just because of Pyror. They have everyone back this year and are not #1, they have been preseason #1 once in this decade.

I do love the fascination with all things OSU on these boards. Theres definitely more OSU centered threads on the rant than the MSB, for example. It's flattering really.

No. It would just mean tOSU was the best team outside the SEC three years running, which is pretty good actually. Just not good enough.
Any system is driven by money. If the SEC championship starts getting revenue like the BCS championship, then we may have something. Not happening, though.

Coming from one of many OSU fans that choose to visit an LSU fan daily... my the irony is quite thick.
I can understand why you would choose the best (board in this case) over the rest... please see our weakness in making fun of people (ie OSu and the Big 10).
Although I cant wait for the NW Duke rematch.... wow NW is going to represent for you boys, I can feel it!
