The only thing retarded is bringing soccer into this conversation. I never mentioned soccer and don't know the first about professional soccer much less its leagues or how they are set up.
All I'm saying is you could funnel all the 4 and 5 star athletes to an NFL minor league and it won't be able to compete against college football that is made up of 2 and 3 star athletes because fans are loyal to the success of the brand/team not the individual players.
Hell Army's AAC conference games have more viewers than the avg UFL game and the UFL has a captive audience.
The Army-Navy game had almost 10MM people last year tune in to watch two option based teams battle for all the glory. Nothing says exciting football like watching the veer.
I would be willing to bet 95% of those viewers couldn't name a single player that played in the game today.
