It seemed like he's desperately trying to emulate SVP and RR's segments where they'd answer off the wall questions. It just fails because scona nor the questions from his guests are not all that clever. He also over reacts to everything Theriot says to "bust his chops" it's terribly forced.

But that's the thing, his opinions are not all that controversial but he plays it up like they are.
I'd rank the 104.5 shows
1) culotta and the prince
2) sports today- though at times they can sound a little bit too much like old BR radio. Jimmy's regular guests fricking suck.
3) Scona

Yeah, that's my biggest problem with Scona. He tries to act like he has this enlightened point of view but its normally nothing revolutionary. He'd be better with a co-host

Yea Condon was awful today. Complaining about JJ not calling timeout when Q crossed half court when by rule JJ is not allowed to call a TO there. Matt didn't correct him either. Clueless idiots.

Scona is a good dude, but his ego has gotten too big for that. Plus he seems to be at his worst with Condon/ Theriot, so I don't know how he would do with a co-host for three hours

I don't have a problem with him or his show. As BR and NO sports radio go it's pretty good.
I did see him on the Lee Feinswog t.v. show the other day and he definitely has a bit of a Slingblade look to him. But as far as a radio host talking BR sports I think his show is good.

I started listening to the show around 3:30 today and was really confused as to why he was explaining every thing he was doing.

I never get much listening time with the other two... in the office for 7 so I miss Culotta and The Prince, and I'll only catch bits and pieces of Sports Today if I'm out at lunch. They seem pretty terrible from what I do hear. I tend to catch big chunks of AFR on my home.

Moscona does not truly listen to his callers, he just waits to talk. And that is a bad combination for a "talk show" host. Also, i can't stand his little boy awwe shucks attitude and skit his does with guest like Condon and Ryan Theriot.

Carley is fine no question, but that voice is grating. Really miss Chesthair. Matt is good people but it's tough to listen to 3 hrs straight. I usually pop in and out trying to find a good segment to listen to, and to Sports Today, Jimmy Ott is so bad, the guy just never seems to finish a sentence and either begins it or ends it with "Charlie!!!!"

Couldn't agree more. He sounds like Innes when Theriot is on, which is about the worst thing you can do on radio.

Can someone explain to me the significance of Joel Davis? I can't for the life of me figure out why he is on that show. He is the Moscona with Theriot factor times a billion.

he's arguably the worst part of 104.5 and I do not say that lightly. Not funny and everyone's attempt to make him into Outsider Mike or Stanford Steve is unbearable. He's not funny and offers zero insight outside of his dorky anecdotes.
