Everyone says Peyton Manning got robbed by Charles Woodson.
So let me ask you, what defensive player, if any, should have won the Heisman?
Derrick Thomas?
Lawrence Taylor?
David Pollack?

Maybe in a different year. RG3 was pretty good that year.

Wasn’t in the right year. Ingram, Gerhart, McCoy, and Tebow were all co-finalists with him.

I’ve always felt that it was ridiculously stupid to believe that the best player in CFB is always on offense.
Guys like Mathieu, Suh, etc. are so much better than the average player at the position.
In fact, I think the best player in CFB is a defensive player 65% of the time.

Mathieu and Suh absolutely.

Suh was terrifying in 2009. The lasting image of him that year is him throwing Colt McCoy around like a ragdoll for four quarters. He almost won that game by himself.

I think that if Mathieu didn't get suspended for that game and kept himself otherwise out of trouble he would've won it.
He dominated on 2/3 of the game.

Steve Entman
Who he lost out to:
Desmond Howard
Casey Weldon
Ty Detmer
“I said before the game no one has blocked Emtman in two years,” said Dick Tomey, the Arizona coach. “We think we’ve got the schemes to handle him and he is in our backfield the first two plays of the game.”
Entman won the Lombardi and Outland. And was picked #1 in the draft. That's how good he was in College. His Pro career nothwithstanding, that was how well he was thought of in College.
And Kenny Easley...First Pac-10 player to be All-Conference for four consecutive years.
Consensus All-American 3 years in a row.
He had 9 Ints. his freshman year in 10 games.
