Sparked from a separate thread...
Clearly 1 & 2 are Football and Men's BasketBall, respectively.
What's number 3? Women's Basketball or Men's Baseball?

if your going by profit, i would think more mens baseball teams turn a profit than womens basketball. i would also guess tv ratings and attendance would be higher as well, but its just a guess.

Not sure, but there is no "big three" in college sports.
It's football, then men's basketball, then everything else.

The sport you see on TV is #3.
Baseball is on just as much volleyball or water polo.

Hockey is bigger than Baseball in the midwest and east.

Yep. I can tell you that Ohio University's club hockey team routinely brought in more fans than the men's (Division 1) baseball team.

my 3rd would be baseball
women's basketball gets more coverage, but i literally have NO IDEA WHY
i'd watch a good mens baseball game over even the national championship for womens basketball

college baseball means nothing to most all college sports fans outside of a the sec and a few other schools. it and hockey are probably on the same level.

northeast...anywhere below Maryland on the east cost doesn't care for college hockey. Although ECU has a decent club team, no one goes to the games

I don't think more than 1 or 2 in either come close to making a profit.
LSU draws close to 10,000 a game as was a little over break even a couple of years ago in baseball.

Yep. There's the big two, and everything else is a regional sport. Hockey in the north, lacrosse in the east, wrestling in the midwest, water polo out west. WBB isn't regional per se because the schools where it's relevant are spread out geogaphically (UConn, Stanford, Tennessee, etc), but it's hardly a true national sport.

LSU baseball profited 1.9 million in 2010.

on a similar level - but schools in the Northeast etc will still have baseball teams even if they are not well supported.
there are just no college hockey teams in a lot (maybe most) of the country

Men's baseball and it isn't even close.

The mid-atlantic schools are absolutely obsessed with lacrosse. I guess they're 3/4 up there.
