-Rummel punts on 4th down on their last possession, about 3 minutes left. Down 23-0, basically conceding the game.
- WM gets the ball, runs a few times. Clock is now under 2 mins
- 25 yard line, under 2 mins, up 23-0, they decide to pass and ultimately score.
I mean theres a reason there is only 3 people defending this. ONe has never played football and was the 10th man on the bball team. Another is a bitter Westgate fan that is mad his team lost last week. And the other is some retard from Calhoun, LA that cant write a coherent sentence.

It's as simple as this. If you have conceded you don't put 11 in the box. A bunch of Sophmores are out in the game to end the state championship against the most vaunted D in the state. 2:30 left 2nd and 3 Rummel puts 11 in the box and stops WM for no gain. 3rd and 3 what are you suppose to do? If Rummel had backed off WM would have ran the ball and the game would have ended. By the way, there were over two minutes left when WM kicked the PAT.

It wasn't under two minutes. The kid scored at 1:57 when the play was over. The call was made at 2:30.
Like I said earlier, I didn't like the call. I would not have made the call. Just putting the facts out there.
Now, honest question. What was WM supposed to do? You weren't there. You said yourself you left the game early. Do they run up the middle and get stopped? Ok, fine. What do they do on 4th and 4? Do they kick a field goal? Pretty sure that would be "classless". Do they go for it on 4th down? Pretty sure that would be called classless as well. They couldn't punt where they were on the field. Do they take 2 knees? Is that the only classy thing to do? Take a knee on 4th down? Honestly, I don't know what the perfect call would've been in this situation.

run the ball 4 times in a row
if u dont get it, turn it over on downs and let rummel run the clock off
dude teams run the ball 4 straight times in that situation all the time, on any level.
you give the ball back. Rummel had no threat to score at that point, and more than likely would have just ran the clock to end the game had they got the ball back.
If WM scores or gets a 1st down on a running play, no one would have said anything. Thats how its done. Unwritten rule.
you said yourself earlier you wouldnt have passed the ball. Why the change of tune all of a sudden?

I didn't change my tune. I said in the post you just replied to that I didn't like the call and I would not have ran that play. I was just clearing up some things Gyno was saying. It wasn't 1:20 when WM scored.

regardless of what the clock said, i think we can all agree with game was over, especially when Rummel punted the drive before that.
thats really the only thing that bothered me. Ya know, had Rummel went for it that drive before, i prob wouldnt have much of a problem with it. It wouldnt have made it right, but I could have understood it at least.

I didn't like it personally. Knowing Shows, he probably made his mind up after 1st down. Rummel had not quit playing. They sent all 11 and crushed the QB behind the line. I said to the people next to me when they hit him like that, "Shows will try to score now. Watch". Wasn't shocked at all to see him do that, in fact I had asked them when it was 9-0 where that play was. WM had scored on it every time they called it this year it seemed. I would be PISSED if I was a Rummel fan today, so I clearly understand where you're coming from here.
