Here is an updated Fangraphs playoff odds heading into the weekend...

Skenes needs a 7IP shutout, 10K's vs Seattle.

Pretty weak schedule this weekend. Not many matchups between playoff hopeful teams. Cleveland visits Milwaukee but those 2 are pretty safe at the moment
A ton of teams that were in the NL Wild Card race have had a rough past week. Arizona and San Diego continue to be scorching hot and hold the top 2 wild card spots. Atlanta with their big series win now holds a 2 game lead over the Mets for the final spot. After the Mets it seems like the only other team that currently has a chance is San Fran and they'd need to go on a pretty big streak of wins. All the NL Central teams are at least 4 games out at the moment and would need to play amazing and get some help from the teams in front of them to have any hope
AL Wild Card on the other hand is pretty crowded and should be very fun to watch play out

real quiet in these threads lately from the cardinal fans?
i told them the team was garbage, mo'ron is a terrible pobo, and the team would be crap. if MLB wasnt so mediocre, they would b 15-20 games under .500

Not that the competition is the best, but Cole looks sharp through 6 in Detroit!

Can't wait to unleash kopech as a multi inning destroyer in the postseason

Glasnow was just placed on the 15 day IL. I thought last year was bad on the pitching staff. This year seems far worse.

Marmol should have challenged that sliding catch.

Who was saying this team would be any good? I knew before the start of the season it would be nothing but a middling team.
With that being said, Winn looks like a mainstay for the next decade. Just give him ROY now.

UltimateHog was in these threads pretty regularly for awhile hyping up STL but that’s just a fan being a fan
Need more of that on this board. The more discussion the better*
*Except if your name includes a football team from Pennsylvania and 2 Georgia teams. Or if the only thing you contribute to this website is sucking off Aaron judge for every base hit he gets

I had us as a slightly above .500 playoff team either WC or bad division winner. Granted WC still very in play but seems unlikely.
I picked a great time to go on vacation these last 3 weeks in Thailand so I've missed all of this tailspin.
Winn is definitely the real deal. Crazy good season. His 3.8 WAR is only bested by Skenes at 4.0 from my quick glance at BR. No hitters really close either Merrill at 3.2.

That's right where I thought they would be too. Fighting for some crappy Wild Card. I knew before the season they weren't a legit contender. So I don't know what that other guy is drunk on. I guess we were suppose to continuously bash the team when they were playing well in June and July.
Fair point about Skenes. He'll certainly get some NL ROY votes though he wasn't called up until May. But I would be surprised if Winn wasn't in the top 5 in NL ROY voting.

I was looking at batting average stats after seeing the thread about it and noticed that Elly De La Cruz has 59 stolen bases this season.
59!
Incredible

There was a definite risk giving Glasnow a 5-year deal given his injury history. Hell that he pitched 134 innings this year was a surprise.
