I knocked a 7 iron to within a foot once at Santa Maria on 2. Ball hit the green and was just parked there. Huge let down.

Closest I had was a long par 3 (about 180). Back when I first started playing. Hit a 3I, hit before the green. Rolled up and stopped about 4 inches to the left of hole.

Nothing else as close as that.

Yeah, hitting a shot that rolls up close to the pin is alot more exciting. While it's rolling, you're thinking, "This count has a chance!"

When it plops down and doesn't roll an inch, you look at like it's a chick that just told you No.

closest i've come to an ace is on #6 @ CCLA

pin was in the front and i hit an 8 iron to about 2" from the hole and it just stuck.....if it rolls it most likely goes in

It was right before dark and it was kinda hard to see what it was doing. My buddy and I were thinking that's close, that's real close.

There's a par 3 at the MSU golf course where I play that I'm determined to get close. Short 120 yarder carrying water and water on right edge.

Yessir. Just started graduate school at State and got a membership out there. Been playing a lot.

That holes a blast though. My other favorite is the par four on back nine that approach carries water. 16 I believe.

I did this same thing

It hit about 3 feet short and right, and rolled a little taking the break. My dad was in the bathroom and I was thinking "he's gonna be posed if this goes in and he doesn't see it"

No hole-in-one here.

As mediocre as I am in golf, I'm just waiting for that one to happen so I can call my lifetime of playing golf a small success.

Made it to the putting green 4 days this week and got to the range once. Hoping to go back to the range tonight before playinng tomorrow at Southwyck (Pearland, Tx) again. That course was pretty fun, but we had to shove our beer in our bags to sneak it on the course because you couldn't take the carts into the lot. Side note, a 12 pack can disappear into a golf bag fairly easily.

@ guedeaux....lift the seat of the golf cart up....many carts have room for a small ice chest on the drivers side.....

Good to know, but it wouldn't work at this place. You cant take your cart to the parking lot to put the beer in it (and your other less important golf shite). You have to either drop your clubs at the front, carry them from the car, or use their courtesy cart that you have to unload all your shite from and move to your actual cart right in front of the starter.
