But seriously, nothing pisses me off like people intentionally hitting into another group. On more than one occasion I've scribbled on a ball and returned it with a driver off the deck.

The only time I played through a group unwanted, was a few years ago at UC...group jumped on #3 in front of us, the both tee off and their balls go a collective 250yards. I sail one over their heads and they wave us through

I'm lucky when it comes to all this.
Never really had someone get like that on a course with me.
If I was hitting, and I had a ball roll by my feet from behind, I think I'd go with pick the ball up and move on. Then they get up to the landing area, can't find it, and have to go back and re-tee. If they don't want to re-tee and just hit from where they think they landed, and hit into me on the green, I'm leaving the pin on the ground.
