That is pretty much covers everybody in the field either that or in reverse order

ETA: I had the exact same times last year .. Its fine unless it rains the first day. I had to quit due to darkness in the first and lost all my good vibes

but i am not bitter about it or anything

Net if you would have said frick 12 I would have agreed. You haven't gotten the wind in its full glory. #8, which I think is like 160-165 or so from the blues, the 2nd to last time I played there FIL hit hybrid just past the hole and I hit 4i just past it. Last time I played I hit 9I, no lie.

I hit the middle of the fairway, and it rolled off left into the hazard!!??

WTF? To be fair, it was a cut going left to right, and should have hung up. I was so pissed, but didn't let it bring me down. It was a good first round.

It may not get better if the wind keeps howling, and those greens tighten up. I'm afraid to say, that may have been as good as it gets. I hit it from the black. So much to think about out there. Definitely not typical S. Louisiana golf.

I know what you mean, but I don't think I've ever played in a tournament where my tee time wasn't 12 something and 7 something.

frick it.

Well I have no idea what it is like to play from back there

I'll play from the back and probably shoot the same as I do from the blue. I think it's "only" 500 more yards or so

I hate 6. 5 is no picnic either when the wind is in your face.

ETA if we hit it next saturday I'll play from back there with you. I honestly don't think it will make too much difference. Distance (besides driver) isn't really my issue

I was even through six, then that triple pissed me off. I was thinking, 'this course doesn't put a premium on distance'. And to some extent, that's true. But when you hit a good drive, and have 185 with some f'd up wind, ain't nothing nice about it.

On 14, it was blowing right across the green, from right to left. White caps on the water, flag standing at attention, drizzle coming down. I thought, frick it. I started it out at the edge of the hazard on the right, landed the green, and watched it roll to the left about 10 yards toward the pin.

I love that course. You guys who said it took a few rounds must have been playing with people who pissed you off. Hitting it alone was a good thing I'm thinking.

And I would say the same about moving to the blue.

With a good wind, it really doesn't matter.

I was pretending to be a Beaverweavable hybrid player on that hole.

The perfect blend of skill, luck, and bald.

But seriously, you'd like that track. Don't know if you've played it. Not really long, so it would test other parts of your game.

No I didn't like it because it always feels like the wind is in your face. That place is some kind if wind paradox where the prevailing wind is whichever way you are facing. I don't think they could make it much longer than 7100 with that wind

I thought that during my first rain delay. Sitting on 4's tee box.

I love late-early. If you play well both days, you just watch the board in the afternoon. Go see a movie, or go check out where ever you are

If you suck, you get to get the hell out early and go home

Out of all the regulars who frequent the thread who has an ace?

Never an ace, but I've holed out for eagle three times on Par 4's, once from 166 yds and twice from 130 yds.

My ball was within an inch of an ace from 208 yds out on #5 at SM last month at the Adams Tight Lies event.
