So what was rigged if the more aggressive team shot less free throws?

All I know is that it was one of the worst officiated sporting events I've ever witnessed.

$22mil is a drop in the bucket compared to the value of keeping the integrity of their sport

They shot an unheard of 22 FTs in the 1st qtr. With that big of a lead, the Cavs were just launching 3s. In a closer elimination game, they don't take those risky shots

The officiating allowed them to open up

In the second half they LITERALLY changed a technical called on Green, in order to keep him in the game. When has that ever happened. . .EVER?

Don't you get it? That was done to make it appear as though they weren't rigging it for Cleveland.

It must be fun being a conspiracy theorist. Any evidence that refutes your theory can be flipped into evidence that supports it. It's foolproof. Unfortunately we real world folks are restricted in our arguments by logic and empiricism.

Five minutes into the game the Cavs were 5/8 from three and up by 15 having taken only one free throw. GS fouled a lot because they were playing shite defense and were constantly out of position leading to hacks to stop open layups and grabs to hold Cavs players coming off of screens.

There was one bad call on the Shumpert clear path call and one other that was maybe sorta questionable. Outside of that the other fouls were clear as day. Hell they missed an obvious one with Livingston stepping under Kyrie on a jumper after calling the exact same thing on the other end the possession just before.

Exactly. That is why all of the rigging talk is complete nonsense. The NBA would lose billions over time if it ever got out. Not to mention the resources it would take to orchestrate a major conspiracy and cover-up. They would have to have secret planning meetings with referees, and cash payments in the $100k's if not millions to the refs who are rigging the game. Hush money would be paid to anyone with knowlege of rigging. It would be the most idiotic business move in history to risk a multi billion dollar company's future for $22 million in revenue. And another thing people don't seem to understand revenue does not equal profit. Do we even know what the profit margin on that $22 million is. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Such nonsense it's proven to have happened on a regular basis.

Individual referees have tried to determine the outcome of games, I'm sure of that. But where is the proof that the NBA has ever fixed a game?

As that disgraced ref said in his testimony.

It's so easy to help influence the outcome of NBA games.

Officiating is not remotely scrutinized like in baseball on a missed call at 1st base because every call in basketball is sooooooooooo subjective.

It's not like a receiver had a toe in bounds on a replay vs. some blocking foul in the NBA...who can definitively saw the ref was wrong on a blocking foul like he is on a foot in bounds in football?

It's been readily admitted and known that the NBA "controls games" through officiating to make them exciting until the end.

Whether they flat-out tell the refs to let one team win...who knows?

Who knows if the Warriors wanted to win...they seemed to play no hard D...maybe they wanted to earn the money back home?

It's plausible because as much as game 3 was great, game 4 looked like a local gym scrimmage.

As if the NBA ever cared about integrity?

Have you read about the NBA since 1980?

Stern did everything, everything close to Vince McMahon to revive a dying league.

And speaking of intergrity...

Watch Michael Jordan's first NBA game - I'm sure it's on Youtube.

He gets called for travelling about 4 times in the game...going to the bucket for his dunks.

And the announcer says to the camera and audience:

"Don't worry, once he becomes a star, he'll get away with that. They won't call it on him no more."

Yeah, NBA has always been a bastion of integrity.

I'm done think they directly "fix" games, but the refs know what type of outcome would best serve the league that pays their salary.
You thinknthw refs want a sweep? Get real.

If the Cavs comeback and magically win I'm gonna lmao until Christmas. I don't care for Lebron or GSW but the melt of the GS bandwagon club would be glorious.

So let me get this straight. You think that the NBA referees, without any direct orders from the NBA, try to determine the outcome games in favor of certain teams because that is what they believe their bosses want. And they do this just to please their bosses, who pay them a regular salary?

I don't think they care unless they have money on the games, which is a more likely scenerio than the conspiracy theories.
