Yea, you’re retarded for taking that statement literally. It was an analogy
And even more retarded for getting mad at me about it.

My junior high football coaches were mean as shite. They never choked a player or threw a chair onto the playing field, but every one of them carried a big arse paddle. Lit us up at every chance.

It's a quote...from him you dumbfrick. I even quoted it.

You can read or not read into it whatever you want. That's your perogative.

But the words say one thing. You can interpret how you want. But the quote is the quote and that is all I posted.

He didn't say drinking is like stress, relax and enjoy it.

He said rape...I remember it well and he was totally called out for it during the time and the tame 80's when nobody was sky screaming and SJWs weren't around.

Guy was a prick and a child in the 80's and he's a prick now. Never grew up. Totally insufferable.

I mean, you have to do mental gymnastics to defend that quote regardless if it's about stress or actual rape.

But using rape as an anology to coping with stress and just enjoy it? C'mon man.

If he didn't mean that, what did he mean? What did he mean that equated the rape comment to be kosher?

Here's the full quote:

quote:

Asked by Connie Chung, the NBC News correspondent conducting the interview, how he handled stress, the Indiana men's basketball coach said, ''I think that if rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it.''

Then, apparently realizing what he had said might be offensive, Knight went on: ''That's just an old term that you're going to use. The plane's down, so you have no control over it. I'm not talking about that, about the act of rape. Don't misinterpret me there. But what I'm talking about is, something happens to you, so you have to handle it - now.''

Reached by telephone in his office in Bloomington, Ind., yesterday, the university president, Thomas Ehrlich, said:

''Coach Knight was not speaking for the university. His reference to rape and his coarse language were in very poor taste. Period. That's all I really want to say.''

I’ve already granted that you didn’t misquote him, that’s 100% exactly what he said.

Context matters. It was an analogy. He wasn’t being literal

But he could have used a million other alternatives.

To make an analogy, if something's inevitable, relax and enjoy it.

And use rape as the best example?

Who the frick would enjoy rape?

I don't know. The guy got a pass his entire life. And maybe still now.

I don't think Coach K would even send his kid to play for Knight in an imaginary world. I don't know if he dies with friends around him besides Dickie V if he's still alive by then.

I think because this quote was a few years ago it went away kinds quickly. Now with the #MeToo# movement he would have really taken some heat..... out of context or not , that’s pretty shitty thing to say
