for ATL's sake, I hope this isn't Denver from 2 seasons ago.

Its not. Denver had a lot more talent and an infinitely better home court advantage

I trust the Hawks more right now. Better post presence. They get a lot of easy baskets.

The Warriors style lends itself to great results in the regular season, but they can easily run cold for a couple of games in the playoffs and that'll be more than they can overcome in a stacked West.

Hard to see them winning 4 series in a row with that style against other great teams.

I don't either team is suited to win a championship, at least not this year.

You do know the Hawks have beaten all the teams you listed this year, some multiple times, right?

Not really comparable in my opinion. That Denver team was the 3 seed and just a game ahead of the 4 and 5 seed. This Atlanta team has won 82% of their games.

not really talking about the seeding more so their being a regular season darling and a postseason flameout.

At this point of the season anything less of a Conference Finals appearance by the Hawks is a disappointment.

Last time Atlanta played those teams they blew them out.

Hawks also have 3 or even 4 possible all stars

Golden State plays unbelievable defense. And when you consider the players taking those jump shots, it's less worrying.

Steph Curry is a better shooter than Steve Kerr. I want you do think about that. Kerr made an NBA career after being a spot-up shooter. Steph Curry is one of the best ball-handlers in the league. He's also one of the best passers. And the dude shoots better than Kerr, a guy who coaches put in the game to take jump shots.

Beating a team one off on a random night in January isn't nearly the same thing as winning a 7 game series

Im so sick of hearing this shite. Another good one is "The Hawks don't have the star they need to take over playoff games omg!" The Hawks are blowing the doors off people. No one can beat them. They arent just beating teas one off on a random January night. They are getting everyones best shot.

I thought my post about this was fairly detailed and not just omg. I wonder what will happen after a team sees the Hawks offense for two or three straight games. It's really hard to project that. The NBA playoffs are so unique because of how well teams start to know each other by mid-series.

well not really. because if any team can win the first round, then that may create more favorable match ups for certain teams to make runs. i don't think it's absurd at all to think the 5,6,7, and 8 seeds can beat the top 4 in a 7 game series, especially if the 8 is the thunder playing the warriors.

I mean this has been the downfall for a lot of teams in the playoffs. The Grizzlies for example have been a great playoff team the last four years, but the lack of that real go to scorer has been their downfall quite a few times.

I'm sorry I can point to thousands of examples of regular seasom results meaning nothing in the postseason. Postseason basketball is just different.

Spurs have shown the ability to win a number of different ways. Golden State has not, at least not that I've seen.

I never worried about the Spurs ability to establish a dominant post presence when necessary. Do we really think Bogut, Lee and Speights will match up favorably come playoff time.

Yeah I suddenly feel a lot better about the Grizzlies championship aspirations if someone knocks off the Spurs
