Warriors give up on the 1 seed. Concede to Rockets.

Tuesday was an off-day for the Warriors — they canceled practice but had motivational speaker Tony Robbins come and talk to the team.
You know Robbins — he’s the guy who tells people to dig down deep and find the extra something that helps them reach their full potential.
The Warriors must have missed that part of the speech, because on Tuesday night, the team sent out a white flag on the regular season by declaring half of their team injured for Wednesday’s game against the Lakers.
In their email to the media and the league office, the Warriors might as well have cc’d the Rockets and added a note: “Congratulations on a regular-season Western Conference title”.
quote:
Stephen Curry had no problem dancing at his birthday party Monday night, but the Warriors’ brass — looking towards the playoffs — want him to rest his injured right ankle for four more games.
quote:
Also on the injury report was David West, who has a mysterious right arm cyst. (The Warriors are up-front about injuries when asked, but I think I’ve failed to inquire about it because, deep down, I don’t want to know…)
quote:
Warriors listed the ailment that will keep Draymond Green out of Wednesday’s game as “right shoulder soreness”. That’s a well-contrived injury — I’m sure Green’s shoulder is sore from carrying the Warriors’ defensively since Curry has exited the lineups.
quote:
And Klay Thompson, who is considered questionable for Wednesday’s game, has a sprained right thumb. Thompson did injure that thumb in Minnesota on Sunday, but the reason he could miss Wednesday’s game is more accurately “he’s been running around a lot this season and could use a night off.”

print the t-shirts.
but seriously, the Warriors could still win with just KD against the Lakers.

Houston with home court advantage makes that series closer to like 55-45 GS

Ariza is the Durant stopper. GSW doesn’t have a chance if curry is hurt.

we can revisit at a later time. no guarantee they both make it that far even though it is likely

Yeah true, If we say they each have 98% chance to win their first round series and 80% for second round, that puts the odds of them meeting in the wcf at "only" 60%. And the real odds are probably lower than that, so it's closer to 50-50.

The Warriors last glimpse of Harden when it counted was him not only wilting but imploding in a game 7 (think it was 7).
Warriors also know how well winning the record number of games works out.
I’d love to See the Rockets get back, but that collapse of Harden can not be understated. He has to overcome that. Even with CPaul.

There will be a banner and t-shirts celebrating this achievement in "clutch city" for sure

Is this where the MSB starts pretending that home court and the #1 seed don't really matter that much in any effort to dethrone the Warriors?
While at the same time fellating each other over the Pels current 4th seed position and AD's MVP runner up?

Several were already injured last week. They were slaughtered by Portland.

You'd be proud of that, beating a depleted Warriors?
That'd be an asterisk next to that championship by your standards.

Like a 60k warranty on a Toyota, I think it is an extremely safe bet they both make it.
To clarify, I would be willing to place a one month ban bet that the Rockets win in a series against GS.
See you in mid May.
