Have you seen NBA contracts for like the last 5-6 years?

Is that when contracts started getting very lucrative? What changed this to allow all this big time money?

Mostly this

In February 2016, the NBA announced a nine-year, $24 billion media rights deal with ESPN and Turner Sports. When the deal took effect for the 2016-17 season, ESPN and Turner Sports agreed to pay a combined $2.6 billion to the NBA annually.

Free agent Evan Fournier has agreed to a four-year deal that could be worth as much as $78M with the New York Knicks, source tells ESPN.

What you talking bout Willis? Did you watch any Pels game this year. He’s lackluster and a titty baby. He and Bledsoe horrendous playing together on most days. Pels we’re better off when he got hurt.

That’s just under $87 million per team, assuming only the 30 teams get a cut, but we know the league office gets some and the spirit of st louis deal.

And that’s with ESPN bidding against itself. The NBA is going to be in for a rude awakening.

ETA: Compare that to the NFL who earns over $10 billion from the 4 majors plus Amazon. That doesn’t even factor Sunday Ticket or NFL Network revenue. Remember when the NBLMA cucks said their league was going to overtake the NFL in popularity? I member.
