This has been the best season!! I guess that pretty much settles the GOAT discussion.

But now Frank Vogel has signed with the Lakers for the head coaching position, and the influence of noted LeBron enemy Phil Jackson growing within the organization.

quote:

Jackson and his buddy Kurt Rambis already are signaling a willingness to part ways with LeBron by comparing him to Carmelo Anthony

quote:

the Lakers appear to be setting the stage for a potential move

quote:

James doesn't have a no-trade clause

quote:

This would be a stunning development. With Rambis and presumably Jackson taking more power, the negative feelings from the Lakers front office towards James evidently are growing.

quote:

and, in an incredible turn of events, LeBron lacks a lot of leverage.

Once the Lue hire fell through, Lebron's influence over the Lakers seems to have vanished.

If they trade him on the advice of Phil Jackson and Kurt Rambis they'd probably get riots like after Rodney King, so he's got pretty good leverage.

Phil also tried to get Mitch to trade 25-year-old Kobe for Jason Kidd back in the day. Great coach, terrible executive.

The news is being reported by Ramona Shelburne not SAS.

But he would still be traded, right? For them to experience any blowback?

unless i am missing something, and if i am please let me know, ramona is not saying the lakers are open to trading lebron. she said that phil is involved in making front office decisions

this is the closest thing she has said with regards to the lakers being open to trading lebron, unless ive missed something

quote:

UnwrittenRules

Ramona on Phil involved " Accurate, if you look at where they ended up it mirrors the Knicks coaching search. What Rambis & Phil learned from the Knicks was the destructive nature of what oversize superstardom could do to your team. They had Melo who had a NTC, LeBron doesn't."

You don't do it because you know the blowbacks coming.
The blowback would be even worse when Simmons left after this hypothetical trade because Klutch would tell the Lakers to gfy if they traded Lebron against his wishes.
