re: Wade = Finals MVP?

i think lebron and wade are going to great lengths to avoid what happened to the thunder
wade deferred to lebron in the previous series, esp when he was having a bad game
they both understand they will have to put egos aside to win it all, and they're doing a good job of that
i don't think either wants a situation like the thunder, with both competing for top-dog status
IF I AM RIGHT, it's pretty remarkable. just not something you see in the NBA that often

Do you think you are? Wade deferred to LeBron because Wade was actually playing poorly. He looked lethargic and sloppy, while LBJ was a man amongst pussies. Now, Wade is playing well and LeBron is just deferring. He isn't trying to dominate and failing; he just isn't trying to dominate.
The Heat got to the Finals with LeBron as their best player. Fortunately for them, they can win the series with LeBron deferring to the next best player on the court.

quote:I watch a lot of bball stuff, and honestly, i never hear anyone bring up Kobe not winning those first 3 MVPs. Nor should they, imo, because the point is he won them. Just look at what the general consesnsus has become on Kobe/Shaq's careers.
I get what you are saying, but just look at someone like Kobe who has accomplished far more than LeBron and is entering the last leg of his career. Titles he won in his early 20's are STILL brought up as a knock against him for not winning Finals MVP. Had he won those three Finals MVPs over Shaq, don't you think he would have a greater legacy? Of course he would.
Kobe is widely considered the better player even though Shaq has 3/5 of the MVPs in his championships seasons.

This series won't define LeBron as a basketball player, but it WILL define his legacy if he does not win Finals MVP. If he wins five Finals MVPs after this it will go unnoticed for the most part, but what if Wade finishes with more than LeBron? This series is huge for LeBron if he wants a legit shot at being compared to MJ in the long run.
That i agree with. If these guys win 6 and Wade gets 5 MVPs that will look bad. However, i dont that happens. Mainly because Wade is beat up and already pushing 30. Plus Lebron could still win this year's MVP with a few outstanding games.
Magic didnt win all the finals MVPs in his championship years. Neither did Bird, or Kobe, Isaiah, or Duncan, or Kareem etc...
Thats where Jordan stands ahead of everyone

wade was playing out of his mind last night. i don't see why lebron would force the issue unless he was just going for stats

The point is that LeBron came out from the get-go and did not play like LeBron. I'm not taking anything away from Wade, but LeBron is better and did not really show up last night after he specifically said he was going to be aggressive.

wade was playing really well and he gets a better matchup than Lebron does... wade is just better than the Dallas guards and fast enough to split the big men when he drives
Lebron would be the go-to guy if Wade wasn't there... but when he's there... why would you get away from the best possible matchup?

Really early in the season Chuck Klosterman brought up the idea that maybe Lebron going to Miami, kowing full well what everyone would say. Or now, seeing Wade is hot and going to him, again, knowing full well what today's converstaion would be, is actually legit confidence. Not that false bravado that most have.
He knew what people would say about him going to Miami or deferring to Wade last night and didnt give a shite. Maybe thats real confidence and not the fake stuff that would have had him doing dumb shite on the court to prove a point to the Skip Bayless' of the world.

it would fall in line with his comments to the reporter last night about how lebron was playing awesome on D and the reporter missed it

It's been said by me that Pippen was never a finals MVP

Mavs winning this thing in 6
We're the better team when Dirk is on the court.

You should be down 3 nothing right now. Miami is winning this thing.
Posted on 6/6/11 at 11:24 am to Palm Beach Tiger
Why "should" we be down 3-0?
Dallas won a game by 2 points, Miami won a game by 2 points. If Dallas's win is lucky, so is Miami's.

I'm sticking with my Heat in 6 prediction
Mavs are a smart, admirable, competitive team
They just don't have enough to beat the Heat unless the Heat choke it away repeatedly

Doesn't matter I guess. Mavs ain't beating the Heat 3 out of 4.

I agree with this. As close as this thing has been Dallas could easily be up 2-1 right now.
