Vince Young was on NFL AM on yesterday discussing his efforts to return to the NFL, including working out at Texas Pro Day and Writing an apology letter to Jeff Fisher. He's also been working with George Whitfield, who prepared Cam and Andrew Luck for the draft and worked with Roethlisberger during his suspension

Jamarcus Russell is also attempting to make a comeback and his efforts are being documented by Bleacher Report. He's been working with Jeff Garcia and has been successful in losing weight.

I think both are sincere in their desire for redemption. I also get a sense that they want to be able to say, "at least I tried" and I respect them for that. My question to the MSB is which do you think is successful in their efforts? Also what would you consider success?

Vince isn't, he already had chances.

JaMarcus has only gotten fat. He hasn't had multiple chances.

i would actually go jamarcus. both suck but only one has the ability to actually be good (although i think jamarcus's ability of being good is at like 2%).

I don't think its that simple? Did Russell ever really try to succeed in Oakland? Youngs issue was more about owner vs coach and he wasn't able to handle being caught in the middle

ETA I never believed Fisher's claims of Young having "mental health" issues I just think Young didn't want to deal with him or the team

I think the better question is could anyone have succeeded in Oakland at that time.

Just an excuse for JR being a suck arse QB. There is a reason he didn't get a second chance already and it's not Oakland's fault.

For Jamarcus, something like this since he was supposed to be great, I'll factor in the current conditions and what not :

3800 yards, 25 TDs, no more than 12 INTs, at least a 60% completion %, no attitude or character problems all season.

I don't think this is even worth debating. Jamarcus himself has admitted that his failure lies with him
