we got numbers on the Wilfork deal yet?

2 year contract worth $9M, $5M guaranteed per John McClain

Cecil Shorts is a great signing. On a one year deal, he will be out to prove himself, and he's got the talent.

He got a 2 year deal worth $6M, $2.5M guaranteed

So basically one year 2.5 million. He will be cut if he doesn't produce. I expect big things.

I still think they're a 9-7ish team again. I'm interested to see which direction they go with the first pick in the draft though

Completely agree on the team. Need a great QB in this league. Texans could sneak into the playoffs, but they'd be bounced in the wild card round.

I do like the direction of the team under BOB. Seems like they are a QB away from being legit contenders now that several holes have been addressed on the defense.

Hopefully Mallet turns out to be special.

They need to go into the draft as if Clowney will never play a down for them at this point and address the hole at line backer and outside pass rush.

wiki lies

says Wolfork weighs 325.

Looks bigger than Gov Christie.

Agreed. I can never say it too many times. I can't believe we don't have Khalil Mack.

I was very glad he didn't go to the Ravens or the Colts.

There will be about 2 games this year where he just goes OFF and looks like Vince of old. Then there will be the other 14 games where he looks long in the tooth and will only provide run support.

That being said, he is a tremendous leader, and I hope for the best.

they got a ton of TOs last year. that and jj watt playing insane really helped produce that 9 win record. going into the season, its hard to rely on that happening again, so they will really need to improve offensively. as someone said, hopefully we can get Cleveland browns ryan mallett and not Cincinnati Bengal ryan mallett

i feel like since we know its going to be damn hard to find a QB, we might as well doublw down on the running game so that can lead us to wins. road grading OL and non-afterthought drafted RBs (think a top 3 round pick being used on a RB) should be priority IMO

no. im hoping we get the mallett that played well against the browns, not the one who was allegedly hurt and played poorly against the bengals

I fully expect Hoyer to end up being the starter and he's basically a Fitzpatrick clone to me. I think the roster will be more talented overall this year and they will be deeper in the secondary and at LB (assuming this is addressed in the draft) but I expect some regression from watt and foster. So pretty much evens out

If Mallett can sustain what he did against the Browns and even improve on that, there is a chance they could get into the playoffs in the wildcard probably. Still don't see them winning the division.

I expect defense to be improved as a whole and the offense to be a little better in the passing game (hopefully).

I also would like to see them take a flyer on a RB late in the draft. Who know how much longer Foster can last given his injury history. The LSU fan in me wants to believe Blue could handle a full time starter role, but he still has a long way to go.
