Yet you're accusing him because he's Tony Stewart.
I don't follow NASCAR. I watch highlights and know he has a non-flattering reputation. I don't give a shite about Stewart. But I see the ones ready to put him under the jail clearly didn't like him before this happened.

I can't tell one way or another on this "acceleration" argument.
But IMHO it looked like he swerved towards him. You can definitely see that he's higher on the track after the contact.

Yeah, it's really hard not to insult anyone who still thinks he "accelerated up the track" based on the video. I find it hard to believe anyone who can put together a complete sentence can't understand what happened.

You keep on making this claim, yet several folks in this thread (myself included) do not like Stewart in the least, just can't condemn him based upon the evidence publicly available.
Yet somehow when someone disagrees with you, they're just blindly defending TS.
This is trollish from you.

I see everyone saying this, but has it been confirmed? I think people are jumping to some conclusions that may not be the case.

The dumbass shouldn't be running around a poorly lit track at night time. The fault lies with Ward. Sucks he died but this isn't Stewart's fault.

People are acting like 2 other cars weren't inches from killing him seconds before. This guy was asking for something like this to happen. He was working his way down the track to get closer to Tony's car. This is just what I can get from the video.
Tony's intentions and actions prior to what we see in the video are a totally different matter and if we ever get that video, I'll make my judgement then. But nothing implicates him that we've seen.

His car is only in the damn frame from the 11th to the 13th second mark of that video. C'mon dude.
Uh, I wanted you to see his walk out. I wanted you to see the blue car slow down and avoid Ward.
Then I wanted you to see the difference in actions as Tony Stewart comes into view.
- He is obviously moving his car toward Ward.
- Ward is obviously trying to dodge while putting his hands out.
- He obviously accelerated.
Those three things are undeniable. He goes faster and we can hear his engine rev higher. We can see that he has not yet made contact with Ward Jr yet his car is moving upward toward Ward Jr.

Dragging a body on the right side of the car will tend to make that happen.

bottom line... if you are crazy enough to get out of your car wearing black, at night, on a freaking race track... be prepared for something bad to happen. Looks to me like the guy who was hig is the one who had the hot head and because of that resulted in his death. Terrible accident, but sometimes bad things happen

Honest question: was the guy stuck on the tire. I'm watching on YouTube phone app. Small picture, dark track, hard to make out exactly what's happening

Where's this video? You and maybe two others have apparently seen this evidence.

From the 8 second mark to the 15 second. It is VERY clear before Tony hits him his car diverts upward. It is very clear Ward Jr sees it divert upward and attempts to get out of the way putting his hand down.
Not sure if you know what "very clear" means.
People get far too emotional about this and objectivity be damned.

He was already headed in that direction before he hit him.
The 45 car that came before him saw Ward Jr and stayed low, hence why he didn't hit him.

Video is here
Stop it at the 10 second mark. This is after the 45 goes by.
You will see Ward Jr in view. If pause/play it to see frame by frame. You see Tony enter the video and his car is moving higher. You see Ward Jr, see he is too close and attempt to jump out of the way.
