You think ESPN should run a Tony Stewart killed a guy story when there's nothing but twitter posts and internet stories talking about twitter posts?

You don't have to say he killed a guy but you could say there was an incident and some guy got injured.

"People (who could see it better) said the guy got out of his car and was gesturing angrily at Tony Stewart when Tony Stewart came by during the next lap under yellow," Willis said in a phone interview. "He approached him and evidently when he was driving by the guy standing on the track gesturing at him, he gunned his engine.
"What happened was the back end kicked out and clipped the guy and the guy flew across the track."

stupid intimidation tactic gone wrong is still what it appears to be. fricking idiot

shite, they could have SOMETHING on .com about the accident. I mean someone was killed and, so far, the only name being thrown around as a suspect is one of the biggest names in the sport.

At least worthy of a paragraph...

Probably just covering their asses before they put anything out about it and circling the wagons so as not to frick it up. Joe Schmo putting it out on Twitter is a bit different than running it on the largest sports network in the country.

I'm thinking it's something like Stewart gunned it thinking the guy was going to jump out of the way of a speeding car but ended up clipping him.

Still deserves jail time.

Nope but I have watched people get out of their cars and approach somebody who has hit them or taken them out. Its pretty easy to get the heck out of that persons way. Stewart did it on purpose.

Yes, because ESPN is known for being prudent and covering their arse.

Again, why can they not report that:

"There has been an incident at a race track involving Tony Stewart. One person is reportedly dead; a police investigation is underway. We will update this story as more details become available."

Twitter posts aren't allowed as sources on TD but ESPN should run them?

the good news for the fans in attendance at least is that it looks like it happened on the opposite end of the track from the grandstands

Lots of tweets saying the kid is dead.

Also one talking about how turn 2 is poorly lit and ward was wearing black.
