If TCU went to the Big-12, Texas would probably get stronger. It would water down the Aggies even further, and TCU would probably take some of OU's Dallas recruiting grounds as well. Texas would still get their recruits.

People need to understand that more goes into a conference than wins on a football field. Have you looked at Boise's other sports? Have you looked at their sub-Nicholls academic record?

They aren't going anywhere, ever.

well said, cant understand why people always bring this shite up. BSU will never join the pac 10

What has TCU proved that they will take from OU? There is enough for all of them, hell Oregon has staked a claim in the state.

I think the Aggies are up and comers, bout time. It is hard for me to believe a team in the state of Texas being terrible for so long.

Good thing you don't sterotype, pretty amusing that you are griping about people passing judgement while doing the same thing. Not all Mormons/BYU students are "bible-thumping Jesus-freaks". But again its a good thing you are so open minded and tolerant of views you don't like or understand.

I just think that TCU would be alot more attractive to DFW area Big 12 level recruits who want to stay close to home, where family/friends can watch every home game easily.

OU is not that far. TCU in the Big 12 would have a mrginal at best affect on OU. A&M gettting good would be a much bigger threat.

Colorado? That one surprises me. If they are going that far east grab Colorado State too and just add another state rivalry. Still think they should offer Boise State and Utah or BYU. Atleast they would be expanding but I would be much more impressed if Boise State and Utah were added instead.

UC-Boulder dominates the frick out of Boise academically. Colorado also has won titles this decade in skiing, men's cross country, and women's cross country. They also have a football national title in 1990. Way more to offer than fricking Boise State

I never griped about people passing judgement. You implied I was "tolerant" in your comment. I never said I was. I'm very intolerant of small-minded overly-religious types. They can hate me, and I'll gladly return the favor. And, every BYU student I've ever met fit my description to a T. So I'm pretty comfortable in my "styereotype."

Besides, Cal and Stanford not wanting BYU in the Pac-10 is hardly "intolerant." No one is marching to Provo and demanding that all the folks in the fancy underpants shut their school down. They're free to indoctrinate whoever they want. But Cal and Stanford don't have to legitimize their brainwashing mill by allowing it to compete in the Pac-10 (and watering the conference down in the process). I support their decision. BYU is a great fit in the Mountain West, with the proseletyzing Air Force Academy, the Texas School for Christians, and the Wyoming homosexual crucifyers. It's a great conference.

The People's Republic of Boulder would be a much better fit in the Pac-10.

at least you admit you are a small minded bigot. Its amazing you don't realize the scope of your hypocrisy.

How do you know they "hate" you? You are saying they should be kept out of something that has nothing to do with you based on your own small minded bigotry and hypocricy.

Cal has their own brand of brainwashing to worry about

Where has Stanford or Cal said they wouldn't let BYU in? I haven't seen anything like that

Another possibility is for Houston to join the Big 12. It has a much larger enrollment than TCU and they are about to either build a new football stadium or completely renovate Robertson. They are building more on campus housing to shed their commuter image. Plus, Houston had a good amount of athletic success in the SWC days.

Pac 10 offered Colorado a bid in the mid 90s and they turned it down. I doubt they would again. Road trips to LA, Frico, Phoenix and Seattle beat the hell out of Lubbock, Manhattan, Lincoln, Stillwater and Aims.

I would be pissed if the Pac-10 took Utah. UNLV was talked about getting invited a long time ago (during the glorious Randall Cunningham and Men's Basketball National Championship days), and we're still in the discussion now..even though our football program is garbage now.

LINK - What Teams to Expect for Pac-10 Expansion. (2-9-10)

quote:

1. Boise State Broncos
2. Utah Utes
3. UNLV Rebels
4. Hawaii (rainbow) Warriors
5. Colorado Buffaloes

quote:

UNLV has a decent shot at getting into the Pac-10, but lately the football wins haven't been there for the Rebels (of course, the same can be said for most Pac-10 programs as well). Missing out on a bowl game last season hurt, and there's no sign the Rebels will be any better in the 2010 season. The only bright spot that's garnered any sort of national attention is UNLV's basketball team, a bubble squad that finished with over 20 wins last year. This season, the Rebels are currently 19-4 and just had a huge win over #12 BYU. If they can pull off a few upsets and run deep in the NCAA Tournament this March (perhaps channeling a little 2006 George Mason mojo), expect UNLV's name to pop up when the Pac-10 expansion is discussed. (Odds of joining Pac-10: Medium)

no pac ten fan wants unlv in the conference. Sorry but you will just bring jokes....

Also, this story was written by someone who has the same power you and I do if we joined gather.com. He posted his idea is all, this isn't by someone in the know. Just someone with an opinion. Boise has a better chance of joining the MWC before they do the Pac Ten.

Ok man, take it easy on us.. The only "joke" would be our football team. So yes, I agree our football team is garbage. This is a fact. I could sit here a say their "improving" or "rebuilding", but really no one knows when the hell they'll be relevant again. They just hired a new coach and yea yea whatever.. But I mean come on..every conference has a couple garbage football programs.

Our basketball team is no where near a joke. UNLV holds the fourth-best winning-percentage of all-time among Division-I college basketball programs.
1. Kentucky
2. North Carolina
3. Kansas
4. UNLV
5. UCLA

Right above yes..a Pac-10 school. We made it to the sweet 16 in 06, went to round 2 of tourney in 07, and got screwed last year on the bubble. For sure going to the tourney this year and next year we'll be even better only losing two seniors who don't even start. My bias is predicting another possible sweet 16 run or even elite 8.
