Besides, where are they going to play a Championship game? Rotate it between Pasadena, Phoenix, Seattle, Denver?

If the 49ers can get a new stadium that would be a good place to play too since it would be centrally located.

They talked about a rotation when the Pac ten first went to a mens bball conference tourney because at the time it was the only conference with an NBA team in every state and could spread the wealth. Well every state (except Oregon and Utah) has a pro football team and could spread the wealth but again it won't happen. It will be in LA.

Playing every team in conference was pretty damned cool.

This is why I won't like expanding. I think they do it the best, they truly know who the champ is.

It should be much easier for a team from the PAC 10 to get to a BCS game/BCS championship game. A conference championship game gives you a "mulligan" if you drop one during the regular season. By not having to play every team in conference, the schedule gets easier, and the league's overall record will improve.

This was the only bad thing for them about playing a round robin. They have had less BCS games because of it.

BYU would be an interesting add to the Big XII. I would rather TCU, but they would be in an already loaded South

If they lost CU, they would need to move someone to the North

But who would they move unless they want to be illogical like the ACC? They would want to keep all the Texas schools in the South. Then you have OU and OSU. They don't want to break up those rivalries (OU vs UT and OSU).

It's great, but the 9 conference games has been a disaster for the conference both on the field and financially

They could add TCU to the North, or move one of the Oklahoma teams and do like the SEC with a perm-opponent?

I don't think'd they'd pass on TCU due to geography

If they did that, I would assume they'd move OSU over. They would not want to move OU over and miss out on them playing UT and OSU each year.

If they add TCU as a replacement I'm guessing that Oklahoma State would move to the Big 12 North and would still play Oklahoma every year.

The only hangup I could see with TCU, if the Big 12 does in fact need another team, is that it's in a media market that Big-12 already dominates

It's funny how the Pac-10 gets so much love for this when the Big East has always done it this way.

BYU's problem is the religion doesnt allow them to play sports on sundays.

Actually, BYU's problem is religion, period.

Schools like Cal and Stanford don't want a "faith-based" school in the league. Good for them.

I like that they do it but how many teams do they have? Not exactly the same thing. They play 7, pac ten plays 9 division games.

I know TCU wants to be in a bcs conference but do they want to go to the big 12 south?

Colorado? That one surprises me. If they are going that far east grab Colorado State too and just add another state rivalry. Still think they should offer Boise State and Utah or BYU. Atleast they would be expanding but I would be much more impressed if Boise State and Utah were added instead.

Boise State will never be in the Pac-10 because of academics.

Colorado has shown, when they have a coach that can recruit California and Texas, they can be national players

Boise won't even get a Mountain West invite, much less one to the Pac 10.

People need to understand that more goes into a conference than wins on a football field. Have you looked at Boise's other sports? Have you looked at their sub-Nicholls academic record?

They aren't going anywhere, ever.
