I've seen this story before. SC comes into the season overrated, loses to some underdog, wins enough games to get into the Rose bowl, and then Brent and Herb talk throughout the Rose bowl about how SC should be #1 after they beat down of some slow Big Ten team.

I wasn't big on USC but I am stunned that USC only scored 14 on Stanford.

How many times in a row does Stanford have to beat USC for it not to be considered an "upset" anymore? I mean COME ON!

Only way this happens is if Oregon goes undefeated and makes the title game. USC damn sure isn't making the Rose Bowl without a couple other teams stumbling.

As I said in the SECR, I think this is the first loss for USC that can be chalked up to the lack of depth caused by the sanctions.

The Trojans just did not have a quality backup center.

Only took 3 games for them to get exposed this year, usually I have to stay up to some ungodly hour on an October night to see it...

It was way more than a center. If Stanford had a kicker they would have put up 30

Well, it looked like USC's DL was gassed there at the end as well. I heard the announcers say the Trojans were shuttling DL in on every play there in the 4th quarter.

I guess I haven't heard many barkley interviews but Barkley sounded like a freaking idiot.

SIAP, but did USC get five downs on their last series?

There was a penalty on a pass play, but I though Stanford declined. Didn't matter anyway since USC was in full retreat mode.

I saw that, too. Looked like the Stanford coaching staff wanted them as far from the endzone as possible at that point.

the entire D was gassed. But I do agree that their lack of depth would have been the end of them against LSU or Bama, hell, even Oregon

All SC has to do is get to the PAC 12 title game and win...

...in the rose bowl they go.

Congrats on the win. Once again, Stanford has our number. I predicted we'd lose this one, and the Thursday night game at Utah, but call me crazy, I still think we'll rally and beat Oregon. Twice.

You can lose not one, but TWO games and still win a Mythical National Championship. As long as you get lucky enough. I've seen it somewhere.*

*I don't think you can possibly win a MNC while under sanctions. Bama was losing to ucla while sanctioned much less heavily than we are.

you mad. The trick is, even if you lose two and get lucky, as you say, you still have to win the NC game. Your Trojans don't have that stuff this year my friend. Don't worry, the media will be blowing you again next September.
