Yeah, the truth is ugly.
We have our own species of Rantards.

the only reason they put sec teams in the top ten is because they ran out of other teams to put in
Yea because shitty conferences like the PAC-10 cant put more than 2 teams in the top 25, much less 4 in the top 10.
The thought that USC plays a tougher schedule than LSU is laughable. Any USC fan who claims there schedule this season is tougher than LSU's is completely delusional.
LSU plays 2, possibly 3 teams this season that are better than Ohio State.
Other than Ohio State and MAYBE Oregon, USC plays NO ONE.

USC = overrated
As far as this season goes, #1 is about where they should be rated.

That's what you seem to hear everywhere.
Hypothetical this weekend:
Virginia loses to Duke, and Ohio State loses a close one to Troy (the only strech here)
UCS would have beaten beaten a 1-3 team (16-0 FCS Richmond), a 2-2 Ohio State with quality wins over Youngstown and the nail biter with Ohio, and 1-3 Beavers (thankful June Jones isn't in Hawaii).
Does that make them clearly and undisputedly the best team in the country?
My whole point in this thread is that USC has played a Virginia team that got pounded by Uconn and an vastly over-rated Ohio State. You can't argue Virginia as a quality opponent, and Ohio State doesn't look like a top 10 team.
Put USC #1 in the polls that don't matter this week, but just don't let anyone get away with the blanket statement that they'll beat any team in the country. Don't lock them into #1 for the year before they play their third game, or at least a proven opponent.

I agree grasshopper. We beat the shite out of Ohio State in January and Florida beat the shite out of Ohio State in January 2007. What's the big deal about beating the shite out of Ohio State?
Simply put, it's been a requirement for the last two BCS Champions to beat Ohio State.
That's a good sign for USC.

USC is just having a half of no focus. it happens to them every year against lesser teams
i don't think anybody who follows CFB thought they'd go through a season without these games

USC is overrated every year...that's just how it is. It doesn't mean they aren't the best team, but they are always rated higher without the need to prove themselves. Just have to live with it or stop the media from rating them.

USC down 7 and they're fricking dominating in the 2nd half....not so fast

USC could score 40 in this game, and they'd still be overrated. There's absolutely no excuses for this.
1. They KNOW that this is a let down game since it's been on ESPN all fricking week.
2. It's early in the season, thus there are no injuries to put some of the blame on (ala Arky last year for LSU).
3. USC has roughly 30 5* prospects, whereas OSU has none.
4. USC has 5-6 possible Pac-10 1st team defenders, OSU doesn't.
5. USC is #1, OSU has one win.
This is absolutely inexcusable. Petey needs to do something with his players' mentality.
ETA, losing Shareece for this game isn't that big of a deal considering it's OSU, and that most of their damage has come on the ground.

they just lost focus
like LSU v UK last year (OSU is much worse than UK, but we lost that game b/c of focus)
USC does this all the time

Absolutely correct. Not focusing sure the frick isn't one, either.
