People keep acting like I said This team isn’t talented enough to win.

It’s not talented I’m enough to not give a frick and win.

they didn't seem to have a problem gelling with Coach K in route to an 88-1 record from 2005-2016.
If they don't win the gold, Popovich will get removed with the quickness, and they'll be begging Coach K to just coach the US team after he retires from Duke.

Look at the players on those rosters compared to this one. They all came up in a totally different era and most of them are guys who’s offensive games developed inside the arch and later added the 3 point shot as time went on. You can blame Pop if you want to and I hate Pop but coach K hasn’t done a very good job of coaching anything as of late.

I agree with you but that’s more a question of motivation and not talent. I don’t think anyone would argue with you that the right mentality is lacking with this group.

You make a good point about the offensive issues but doesn’t it sort of speak to the modern style of play in general? The three point dependent play in the NBA is more of a disguise for a league that doesn’t really practice playing good basketball than it is an “evolution” of the game and it’s showing with the current U.S. team. It’s harder to gel when you’re not accustomed to playing the game correctly.

The other teams are heavily dependent on the 3 point shot too. They just have clear cut roles for everyone and aren't letting each guy have his turn running isos.

Right but like you said they have roles and there’s something in place to where those shots are created with purpose and not just heaving em up at random like we do. There’s so many wasted possessions and bad shots which is normal for an NBA game but it’s being taken advantage of here.

Probably already posted but if the United States put up a healthy and rested All-Star “2021” dream team , USA would rake any country’s arse. No questions asked. Right now, nobody gives a shite after Covid and the bubble.

That was hardly the dream team we put on the court this Olympics. JaVale McGee, Keldon Johnson, and Jerami Grant, what in the world is going on with USA basketball? That was a recipe for failure and we almost got it. If Jrue Holiday didn't make his way to Japan after the finals this team had almost no point guard presence at all and was going belly up.

Can we please get over the " dream team" ? These guys wanted to be there & played their behinds off against other NBA level talent.........unlike the dream team.

The dream team had nothing to do with my statement. We were built like an afterthought. Almost no point guard presence and very little talent down low. We were asking for it.

Went from getting embarrassed in exhibition games to winning gold. Agree that Jrue was the difference.
