you cant say England's or Argentina's best athletes play international soccer.
oh they do
but their best athletes aren't close to our best athletes, so the comparison is moot

If we can't figure out how to string some attacking possession together and get some actual shots on goal, there will be no repeat of El Salvador tonight. It really looks like the players just aren't prepared to run a 4-3-3, turf or no turf.

I know you are not this ignorant. Come now, you cant say England's or Argentina's best athletes play international soccer.
england doesnt have other team sports like we do
the soccer ignorance from people who dont know anything about it makes me want to vomit

They don't touch Serie A, Premier League, or La Liga..but the Brazilian league is not far behind Bundesliga.
So yeah, I'd put it at 5. After that you get France, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico.

thats not what im talking about.. obviously football and basketball players are athletic freaks that are mostly unmatched..
what i mean is that there are those people who are just good at everything they do.. they are just athletically and skill wise superior to everyone else around them.. in the US, those people are not pushed into soccer, as in other countries..
i believe we have the population and diversity to find those special players.. but it boils down to changing the youth perception.. which i think is happening.. soccer today is light years ahead of where it was when i was a kid..

naw brah, England has people way more athletic than their soccer players. England's brand of football is more physical nothing very explosive.
Argentina has got a pretty good basketball movement as well.

Mastroeni and Beasley are playing wayyyyyyy worse than they are capable, in Wynn's case he is just that bad.

Man, you should have seen how bad our teams were 20 years ago. The growth of US soccer has been incredible. These guys are much more skilled and tactically better.
But it is good to see fans who aren't satisfied yet.
I am really disappointed with Pablo tonight. And it's like Beasley has forgotten what sport this is.
Jozy is great.
Torres is improving, although he still slows it down too much sometimes. Get it to your forwards feet quicker.
I'm not impressed with Wynn, but Onyewu's first couple of games he was horrible, so hopefully.
Anyone know why Edu isn't available tonight? Injury?

America wouldn't have to claim players from a different continent to be good

who cares. its not the same style of athlete
we just have to find the guys.
and in my opinion, we have a bunch of them, they just arent on the field right now

I'm pretty disappointed in Mastroeni's play tonight too.

All of our players are American born.
