Have you played at Magnolia Grove before?
It's no CCLA. That's for sure.

I'm absolutely coming back down to BR for that game. Last year was my best road trip game day experience hands down.
Ill be graduating that december. Ill set up interviews for some courses down there and say I'd love to play the course to get a feel for the course.

I will inform La Tour of your shenanigans and be forced to spit on you at the game, but other than that

Played the Lakes course at Pelican Point on Sat. Stuck on about 6 feet from the cup on an approx ~200yd par 3, somehow managed to three jack it.
Time to go practice putting.

I asked you in last weeks thread if you were a member at Northgate, forgot to check back and see if you responded. Just saw that you did. I just joined last month too. Live in Spring
Let me know how Walden is, I wanna go out there soon

How is Pelican these days? Is it busy with their ridiculous price point?

Going to go play a round today. As a beginner still, I have to get better with this short game pitches. When the hole is ninety yards away I am less confident than I am when I have to hit a five iron after a shitty drive.
Any of y'all have any tips for getting better at those soft high shots. Sometimes I feel like I decelerate and it causes me to pull across the ball, topping it or just hooking in the wrong direction.

DO NOT be delicate with that shot, shorten the backswing and be aggressive through impact!

I'm in. I'd like to try and get started early though.
How early can ya'll deal with? I don't wanna miss much of this U.S. Open.

Exactly. Had a buddy struggle yesterday on the first few holes. It had just rained and he was scared to be aggressive with the shot. Go after it.

anyone have the FJ shoes (counter style) with Boa lacing system? picked up some solid blacks today. my first foray with FJ shoes. I like the Boa system cause I have one foot smaller than the other and it makes for a custom fit on each

agreed. my improvement in those shots has meant many strokes saved. shorten the back swing a bit and still hit through the ball with normal finish (for most shots)...these shots are still all about feel. if I am inside 100 I don't even really need to shoot the distance cause I can look at the pin and wind and "feel" the shot. takes practice.

I shall try that then later today. Not going for it does seem to be the problem. I just know I'm going to top it or send a screamer about a foot off the ground

I'm not good enough to take a huge divot and swing through the ball.
I feel like I'm just messing up good turf for somebody else that's playing after me, that's worth their green fee.

72* wedge??

I wake up at the crack of dawn whether I want to or not. Early isn't a factor for me at all.

play the ball just inside your right foot (if you play right handed)
