Not very good to start, but if you put in the time and effort you can improve very quickly. Remember that in golf, practice does not make perfect. Practice makes permanent. So if you practice all the wrong swing mechanics, they will become ingrained in your muscle memory and will be much harder to fix. You have an advantage having never developed bad swing habits, so it's important to get lessons, read golf books, look at articles about different aspects of the game and incorporate all of that into your own game...it all helps.

They had a guy on the OT one time who talked about shooting a 44 through 9 the first time he ever went on the course.
But that's the OT. Different breed of golfer.

I'm going to Crandon Park Golf, which is supposed to be one of the best courses in Fla. and I signed up for 6 hour long lessons. I went to the range Monday after my first lesson and today, and I was significantly better today.
Just slowing the swing down etc to pieces is so helpful to me early. Only used a 6 iron...and I'm a leftie.
We shall see

I have a big presentation tomorrow at 10 and depending on how it goes I was going to leave at 1. Of course my boss scheduled a meeting with me for 3 pm! Guess I'll just play Friday with my son

I know. I sit in an office all day and when I walk out of the building it feels like a furnace. I feel bad for my son practicing soccer for 3 hours every afternoon on field turf. Well, almost feel a little sorry.

Hit some blades today at Premier in Houma. Think I might go that route next time. Pured every shot but like 3. According to the machine (which seemed to be on today) I hit almost all of them from 160-170 with a 6i. Felt awesome. I still hit everything a mile in the air so it is killing my distance.
ETA: Beard, the guy said my spin with 6i was 4600-4900, is that too high? Is that why I make it rain but don't hit it very far?

Abou to finish a round by myself today. I have my driver dialed in finally. Hitting it straight as ever and far as ever. Playing a slight pull and have a baby fade on a few.
Disappointing round score wise. I get on the bogey train and can't get off. Had a birdie on 10 which is nice. Shoulda had a shot at one on 11. 12 is still my enemy.
If I can stop leaving my wedges short on approach shots Id be scoring very nicely.

That's what I thought, then why do I get the ball so high? I usually don't trust that monitor, but my buddy hit his 8 iron in the 170's consistently on it today and that is normal for him, so I figure my numbers couldn't have been too far off distance wise, but maybe the spin wasn't accurate
.
I just know almost every shot felt awesome. First time I've hit more than a ball or two and it was great
ETA: his rocketballz 8i, so really a 7

launch angle, with that low of spin you sound like a "picker" of the ball
