It's not like laying up on a par 4 is unheard of. I can think of two majors won by laying up on a par 4, Davis Toms' PGA, and the US Open that Payne Stewart beat Phil Mickelson.

Why??? I think its nice to see something different.. The course is hard and the greens are tough... I like to see these guys challenged to the extreme........... It may not be glamorous and Augusta type pretty, but I have no problem watching it......
