Fox's problem is they have producers and directors who don't know their arse from a a hole in the ground. They also are wasting Greg Norman by having him drown in a sea of 40 analysts. They should have put him front and center as THE Definitive voice of their telecasts and related the other guys to hole locations.

They are called spotters and I worked for CBS as a spotter for many years when they played The International @ Castle Pines. Worked a few other tournaments for NBC & ABC as well.

Norman needs to do what Faldo does, be the end all be all while others give information.

Yeah. I talked to a couple at the Zurich last year. They explained to me the signal, and the sounds for which clubs. It was pretty cool.

When I first started in the early '90s, those boom mikes were relatively new and most players/caddies didn't want them near them. Our primary duty was to give the Associate Producer the yardage and the club if we could get it. A lot of caddies would give us the signal and a few times I guessed.
