I doubt anybody saw it unless they were watching online, but David Ferrer may have Gus Frerotte'd himself v's Roddick.
He kicked the sidewall after being broken and was limping around after that. He had his left shoe off and then limped off the court for the rain delay. Wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't answer the bell if/when the delay is lifted.

Do yall think Ferrer could come back from that? I'm surprised it generate more buzz from the match commentators. Would be one of the all time stupid bluders in men's tennis history.

I personally didn't think it as bad as the commentators made it seem to be, but it was a dumb/unnecessary thing to do for sure.

Any chance they get to finish a match today?

Yeah I'm just wondering if the delay would HURT ferrer more than help him.
the reason for my interest is that I bet on Ferrer. Remember him killing A-Rod in straight sets on hard court in Austin and figured this would be no different.

I see, I don't think it will affect him though and if it's that bad he may retire. I have the over on games (39.5).

If he retired before the completion of the second set I'd get no actioned and would be very happy.

Novak Djokovic vs Janko Tipsarevic & Roger Federer vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga matches cancelled for tonight: bit.ly/qhgbQ2 #uso11
just saw this on twitter. I think they're going to try and finish the ones that have already started.

Just said no matches before 4:30 ET. Hopefully the night matches can play. I just checked the weather up there and it's 70% t-storms for tonight.

I hope this doesn't throw off Roddick. He was taking to Ferrer early on in the match.

More delays the better for Roddick - Ferrers fitness is one of the bigger advantages he has.

Roddick will be fine. He just has to come out doing work.
