The Avs are just showing that you can't outrun the numbers forever. Teams outperform their underlying quality all of the time for a season. It's quite common, actually. But eventually, math catches up to you. You can't outrun who you actually are.

Looks like Letang and Hornqvist could return on Friday, and Bennett sometime next week. Luckily Hornqvist was determined to not have a concussion, many thought he was going to be out awhile.
Still no word or update on Maatta though.

So I see where Las Vegas is doing a season ticket trial run for an NHL franchise.
I don't see any way Vegas doesn't have a team very soon.

I would be shocked if they don't have an NHL team soon at this point. All signs point to it and Bettman seems all for it.

The Casinos won't allow it. Not all casinos put lines on UNLV or Vegas based games.

Nice win, y'all. Bob made some spectacular saves, and kept the Jackets in that game (though Holtby was no slouch, he was hung out to dry late in the third and stopped a 2 on 0 with a great glove save). Caps dominated the 1st, but couldn't turn it into goals, and the Jackets just hung around all night. Let a team hang around, that's what happens.
Chimera's cross check in OT was remarkably stupid. But, Caps got a point and are 3-0-1 in their last four, getting themselves back into third. No complaints. Hard fought game. Congrats.

Rumor is it's his shoulder he had offseason reconstructive surgery on.
