These fricking Penguins are playing just PHENOMENAL hockey.

3-0 over Minnesota in the 2nd, dominating the Wild.

1/1 on the PP scored in 10 seconds.

18 unanswered goals for Pittsburgh.

30 consecutive penalties killed, too.

@JoshYohe_Trib: Pens have signed Marc-Andre Fleury to a four-year, $23 million contract extension. That's $5.75 million per season.

@_ShellyAnderson: Fleury no doubt could have gotten longer, richer deal on open market next summer. Commitment on both sides in his new contract. #Penguins

Glad you're happy. Rest of eastern conference perennial playoff suspects are happy too!

October's been rough, as I've barely been able to watch hockey. I haven't seen a complete game from start to finish yet, and I've only see periods here and there (work is reeeeeeeeeal busy right now). But Trotz is right when he talks about how the numbers don't add up. Caps are killing it in possession, they are outshooting just about everyone in every game, and they've actually held a lead in EVERY game this season but one (and they got a point in that one), including a lead in at least the 2nd period of every game of this 5-game losing streak.

It's like a contest on how much can the Caps defy statistics. According to underlying metrics, they are one of the best teams in the NHL. According to the standings, they are one of the worst. Standings count more. Caps need to see the results of their labor.

Highly doubt it. Orpik and Nisky are guiding that team into a solid 11th place finish.

Dreger stating the obvious, Pens already hitting the trade market. Another 10-20 games or so and it'll start to really open up.

And as good as our bottom 6 is playing, to get Bennett back soon and add another top 6 forward for Geno. My oh my.

Anyone see the news today? Jersey ads officially coming to NHL jerseys.

quote:

NHL chief operating officer John Collins said in an interview posted Thursday by Sports Business Daily that jersey sponsorship is "coming and happening," though he didn't give any details or a timeframe for when the move may occur.

Blues pull parachute up 3-0 and let Devils back in game late and hold on .

Pens 4 Jets 3 in a SO. 6 straight W's for the Pens.

What is this bottom 6 depth thing? Not used to having it! But it sure is nice. Beau Bennett back in about a week too.
