Yep. Rafa looks like he could go another 3 or 4 sets.

So fricking annoyed with Djoko. He's choked too many majors.

Uh oh. That quick service game then the changeover might have helped Zverev big time.

Well, hold on a second, we have a game now

Cramping up, good effort though, kid

Now he's back to crushing and moving well. Cramps are weird.

Nadal is still awesome to watch

Dimitrov or Gasquet should clobber Istomin, but check out these other R16 matches in the bottom half:
Monfils/Nadal
Bautista/Raonic
Thiem/Goffin

Nadal/Raonic is going to be a hell of a quarter.

First set to the stork. Best bet for Rafa is to wear him out and win on a TKO.
Good call sir

It's nice to see a 30 year old Nadal still be able to outlast a highly ranked 19 year old in a 5 setter.
Not today, young man, not today.

I think it's likely that Nadal loses to Monfils

Tomorrow should be mid 90's again. But Rafa is coming off a 5-setter too. I'm curious if this will be the night match.
Any WTA experts know why Venus is only -240ish vs. Barthel playing her 7th match of this tourney?

What is everyone's opinion on the Federer/Nishikori match?
Posted on 1/21/17 at 5:16 pm to BayouBengals03
The story of old players is they can still play great, they just don't do it consistently. While I think it's a good matchup for Roger, Kei is playing pretty good ball. Kei usually has a tough time with guys who grind him down. Fed doesn't do that. I just don't see Roger winning.

Agree with Bunk. People tend to focus too much on the previous round or two of a tourney and ignore the fact that Roger was out for 6 months or so. They just want him to win so badly that they convince themselves that it will happen. Of course he can win... don't get me wrong. I just don't think he should be favored over a top 5ish player right now.
