What was the unforced error differential?
Total unforced errors: Fed 57 (21 BH) Rafa 28 (11 BH)
Total Winners: Fed 73 Rafa 35
8 of Feds BH winners came in the decider
I haven't seen full rally length stats yet - 0-4 point rally is so often key, Fed won that category 95-89
Aus Open Final stats

That tells that Roger went for it and played aggressively, much more than Rafa. Fed had 3x the aces as well.
Hopefully, they both have a great year. If they both continue to improve and most importantly Healthy, then I could see Rafa winning the FO and Roger winning Wimbledon. By the time the US open rolls around both will be too worn out to finish it off with a win.
I like the Szervev kid's game and Dimitrov as the next 2 to break through.

It was great to see those two war horses go at it...could be the last time in the finals of a major?
it's always possible but i kinda feel like it's their last. was part of the reason it was a must to stay up and watch this match live - possibly the last time to see these 2 in a finals. did not disappoint.

that's the norm for Roger and why he's so great to watch. not surprised at the disparity in aces - when fed needs a big serve he finds it a lot of times. Nadal has improved his serve enormously but it's average at best - it was horrid for a long time

A lot of people are making the point that Roger changed up his backhand. They say he quit with the slices/chips and went more flat. I don't know about that, but I did notice that he was really hitting crosscourt dippers to Nadal's forehand side and pulling him off the court. That larger racquet has helped a ton on the backhand side.

Anyone going to Birmingham for Davis Cup vs Switzerland?

Not going to be the same without the Bryan Brothers in that doubles spot.

Also not going to be the same without Federer and Wawrinka. Those two would have drawn me to go watch it.

I think that has helped. That racquet is the GOAT, if you ask me. I was seduced by it last fall, and switched from HEAD Prestige Pro, never looked back. Has extra mass, and plenty of controllable power.

I know, really wish one them were playing. I've never seen a pro match at that level and want to see the speed they play. I've played club pros and a good friend teaching pro is a 5.5
