UT has everything at their disposal (and always has) to be a Top 3 program historically. They are the flagship university in a state with the best high school football in America. They have monetary resources most schools only dream about. They’ve had flashes of greatness over the years, but can anyone name a program who has done less with more? Surely UT is the most underperforming football program of all time. The question is why?

3rd all time in wins and 7th in winning percentage

should they have more than one national championship in almost 50 years? probably. but idk about them being most underperforming when you have programs like UCLA and A&M and georgia who have no business having the lack of success that they do have

What performs better: UT football team or UT visiting locker room AC?

I would say A&M has underachieved a lot more than UT. The fact that they haven't won a NC since 1939 is pathetic.

What about AtM they claim they are the richest ever but had to fake National Championships victories from the 20's just to seem relevant

eh, A&M had a legitimately good run of football in the 80s and 90s. people just completely overlook it due to the fact that people take a black and white view with this stuff and the program never won the one game it needed to win

but yes, the last 20 years has been embarrassing and theres no excuse for the program to have the last two decades that its had

Michigan is the opposite program that OP asked about. They are in an undesirable location (to attract elite HS talent that is - it’s a beautiful state but it’s cold) and they are in a state that doesn’t produce talent.

You have to start questioning how many of those wins are a result from a weak SWC schedule.

All-time win percentage ranking of SWC teams
Texas A&M 25
Arkansas 36
Texas Tech 57
Houston 66
TCU 68
Baylor 84
SMU 104
Rice 116

They still pull in Top 10 recruiting classes and Harbaugh loves his sleepovers.

how exactly? is it the access to arguably the most talent rich area of the entire country? is it the largest alumni base in the country? is it the vast amount of money in the program and athletic department? is it the fact that A&M is a decent school in its own right backed by a lot of money as well?

there is absolutely no reason A&M should be having the 21st century that its had

I'm sure you're a great guy. We probably even drink the same flavor beer.

Quick story for you... one day my daughter replies to one of my texts... "your ellipse are killing me"

Hmm... I had figure out how the hell something that I didn't even know what was, was indeed killing or at least annoying her. I quickly learned it was those three dots that I liked using so much. The story is pretty irrelevant, but I was trying to let you know that I use them too much also.

But here's the deal... for them to be "proper" and look reasonably intelligent... you only need three little dots. More than three makes you look like you're trying too hard to convey your thought but you're not as smart as you think you are... therefore discrediting the words that preceded the dots.

Sorry for the hijack, and I sincerely mean no harm nor disrespect.

Their conference, up until about 23 years ago, consisted of the following teams:

Arkansas
Houston
Texas Tech
Rice
Baylor
Rice
Texas A&M
SMU
TCU

Arkansas left the conference at the end of 1991.
