I have always heard how racist a city Boston I didn’t feel any bad vibes on my few visits.

Cape Cod is an amazingly beautiful and friendly area. I would highly recommend going to visit.

I'm a Celtic fan for decades, but just ask the older Irish how racist Boston was / is. Plus there is always the Red Sox to hate as well.

You’d have to be naïve to actually want that. Let’s be honest with ourselves.

If you're making a documentary about the history of the Boston Celtics, you have to talk about race, and this comes from someone who's whole family is from there and loves the Celtics.
1. First NBA team to draft a black player, Chuck Cooper.

2. First NBA team to start 5 black players.

3. Best player in franchise history was a huge civil rights advocate while he was playing and bore the brunt of racism during his career. Heck someone crapped in Russell's bed.

4. The Celtics and Lakers rivalry of the 80's was viewed through race. Boston the white team and the Lakers the black team. Even though Boston had a much higher African American population at the time.

All of this played in a city that has had race problems and even today has the reputation of a city that is not welcoming to black players even though it is regarded as the Athens of America. I don't think you can tell the story of the Celts without the race angle. It is what it is.
