I was thinking that Marlin's tenure is on thin ice at this point, so that buyout maneuver looks like a good call TBH. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next 2-3 years.
I like it when LSU is a perennial tournament team and UL Lafayette has real shots at making the tournament each year.
I'm a Tiger's fan first, I attended there and have a kid in college there (am about to have a second). But I did graduate from UL Lafayette and like to see them do well in athletics as well.

I tried to be the same way about ULL but their a-hole fans/alumni make it seem like you have to choose LSU or them. Such a miserable bunch to be around. I gave up supporting the flaming Cajuns after too many negative experiences toward LSU.
It’s forever LSU first and foremost. Nothing changes.

From a ULL alum, I agree, except for baseball.

You're just paying too much attention to the worst of fans. I hear ULL fans say similar things about spoiled, entitles LSU fans. Neither makes up the bulk of or even a significant portion of the fanbase, they just tend to be very vocal.
But I do think that UL has a larger percentage of what my wife calls "yappy dog" type fans. Definitely a lot of little brother thinking involved. They always were a little brother, just now they are THE little brother in terms of size.
I ain't gonna let other people's bad behavior dictate my fandome.
