Matt Brown vs. Erick Silva fight one of my favorite 1st rounds of all-time

And I love both of these free cards, but I'm leaning towards the Connecticut card being better. I think Lawler & Rumble are gonna win fairly lopsidedly. Thomson/Green & Masvidal/Cruickshank should both be wars though.

Apparently Nick Diaz is officially back with the UFC and will fight in 2015, possibly against Anderson Silva right off the bat.

Now that would be an interesting fight, eh?!

Matt Brown seems like he fights once a month.

It's all good, just a matter of opinion.. just glad we are getting much better fights than a few months ago.

Kind of glad they put on a card I have zero interest in on the night of LSU vs Wisconsin to be honest.

What???!

You mean you aren't interested in a card headlined by Bader vs St. Preux?

That card actually has a couple of decent fights and I'll watch anything on free tv/basic cable.. I was referring to the PPV on August 30 with T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao

I don't expect brown to be able to do much about lawlers game.Lawler handkes guys that put out a lot of pressure very well. Lawler is also one of the few guys brown has met up with recently that can match him in closequarters/clinch/dirty boxing. Brown can't go to outside either bc Lawler is way better there. So I expect him to start going for take downs at some point and Lawler is a tough guy to beat that way, see hendricks Lawler. Lawler s kryptonite is a guy that is a dominant wrestler or no joke grappler like souza. Those other two fights I don't know what to expect.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to watching it but in my experience, most fights that are hyped like this one to be ridiculously exciting end up being meh

Eta. For example I'd say condit Diaz really jaded me on these can't miss on action matchups. Both guys are ultra aggressive and active and the fight had no way of not being exciting. Then they come out and neither guy wants to take any chances bc of all the pressure and it's a track meet. (Mostly on condits side).

Commission won't let Brown cut the rest of the weight, Dana says he won't be fined and it is still a title eliminator

It should only be a title shot for Lawler in that case.

Brown is going to get merked within 2 rounds anyway.

Well Brown has never missed weight and was going to cut the rest of the weight but the CSAC wouldn't let him. They also wouldn't let Juiliana Lima.

Pretty strange.
