No Rogan in New Orleans validates this card is shite, but at least DP gets to do his post fight interview with DC

yea with them just announcing that Joe Rogan isn't bothering to make the trip, that shows you they're mailing this one in.
he goes to all of the U.S. based PPV cards.

Is it because his buddy Ari Shafir is doing 3 nights at The Mothership same weekend?
Either way, seems kind of lame for him not to be there for Poirier's final fight.

Exactly what I thought, but in a way I could see it being more meaningful if it’s Cormier/Poirier in the ring together.
It seems like Poirier might be involved in the broadcasts so it’s not like he & Joe won’t still cross paths

Wish it weren't going to be so miserable in the summer heat/rain to actually meet a couple of fighters. Might have had my picture taken with Alexa.

Rogan has been a casual UFC fan for several years now at this point and his commentary proves that he doesn't watch most of the product these days.
the reality is that over the last 5 years he's blown up to a completely different level fame and money wise, and quite frankly, he's likely just bored with the routine of going to the shows. (despite the fact that he only worked maybe 8 out of 12 annual PPV's to begin with).
he definitely still keeps up with what's going on and has fighters on his show here and there, but he's just not into as much as he once was.
the fact that he can't be bothered to get on a private aircraft from Austin to New Orleans to interview one of the GOAT's in his final fight confirms that he's not fully invested in the sport anymore.

Looks like he is on vacation in Italy with his wife and kids.

like mentioned, he's just on a completely different level now (and that's fine, great for him)

Trying out the McGregor lifestyle instead of a vacation to New Orleans

Press conference was pretty tame.
Zellhuber talked a lot of shite and basically said Johnson is old and been around forever with nothing to show for it.
Pitbull clearly struggled with speaking and understanding English.
Not much from holland or Rodriguez.
Paulo is ready to go and likes the energy.
Max knows the crowd is against him but said Dustin deserves it and is a legend.

Great for him but sucks for us mma fans since he’s half assing his commentary these days. If I hear one more Roganism on leg kicks…
