It’s really so stupid to have him fight a guy he’s 2-0 against. What a letdown

For real. If you were going to go the legends route get Nate Diaz for a night.

I love Dustin, but both those dudes run through him at this point in his career.
The max fight should sell, he’ll make some money, and hopefully he can go 3-0 against him.

Haven’t heard those names in looooong time. Tbh, I’d love to see them in the non tv undercard. Haha

Masvidal beat Nate. Never defended it.
It’s kind of funny to think about the BMF title. Masvidal beat Nate then lost to Usman who lost to Edwards who lost to Belal. So Belal the BoringMF is the BMF.
But Holloway lost his BMF aura and status when he declined Ilia’s invitation to meet in the middle. I know people say it wouldn’t be smart thing to do. But it’s the BMF belt, not SmartMF belt.

My guess is around $350 for the worst seat in the house

I compared it to the kansas city and iowa card coming up since those are also smaller market cities. Its like $1k+ to sit anywhere on the floor and about $5k to sit within the first few rows of the ring. The Miami ppv was double that, so since its a ppv floor seats are going to be high as giraffe pussy
Im not going just to sit in the rafters and watch the fights on a screen so ill probably end up paying more than i should. Already told the fiance' this is our summer vaction splurge

Oh well. It is what it is. I’m just frickin stoked for the first NOLA card in a decade!

It’s not based on “smaller market” cities. It’s whether it’s a PPV or a fight night. Tickets will be expensive since it’s a PPV
SLC for a PPV does $5-6.5M in tickets
Denver for a fight night does about $2M

The BMF isn’t always on the line for every fight.
If they are basing it on what Nate said in the link, that it's about fighting for who's the baddest MF'er in the game--well if in his next fight the BMF belt holder gets beat by another guy, he's not really the baddest in the game, is he? Or if the title had been on the line, he would have lost it in that fight.
Very underwhelmed by Max vs. Poirier for his retirement fight. Yeah, Nate would have been great, they were scheduled to fight in 2018 but Poirier got injured. Poirier really wanted that one back vs. Gaethje, that would have been good too, close out the trilogy.

Diat, is there any benefit to joining UFC Fight Club for this event? Think there'll be any issues locking down tickets when opened up for the general public?

Winning a point fight by not even attempting to finish a fight isn’t BMF worthy. You aren’t the BMF if all you prove is that your wrestling is the best in the world (ala GSP back in the day). That’s why the BMF belt isn’t always on the line.

Do y’all think Caesars will bring more UFC and Boxing events to NOLA now that casino has been rebranded ? Or will this be a one off for the local guys send off fight ?

Since the refurb from Harrahs to Caesars the casino is much nicer. However out of the 35 big screen’s they have don’t expect them to buy a fricking boxing PPV. I went there to check out the Benevidez fight and they had on NBA, bowling and college basketball post game shows on. Friend of mine says they never air any actual boxing PPV. So dumb.

Holloway isn’t the greatest but it’s way better than Nate. Max is still fighting at a high level, Nate is a trash can
