Sooner or later though, someone is going to stop chasing him.

And that will be a very boring fight.

So much for that remark.

Penn, despite a conditioning program much improved from his earlier days of stuttered training, was still a soft-looking 168 pounds. In the end, there was probably a 30-pound difference in lean, functional body mass between the two.

(Homework assignment: Go to the butcher and ask him to put 30 pounds of beef on the scale. Or just take my word for it: it’s a lot.)

Watching Penn suffocate under St. Pierre’s attack brought about much of the same feeling stirred by Randy Couture’s molar-operation of a bout against the massive Brock Lesnar in November. In both cases, the stress of resisting a considerably larger foe catches up to you.

In an interview with InsideFighting.com on Sunday, Penn’s head coach, Rudy Valentino, claimed St. Pierre used similar tactics the first time the two fought in 2006. Valentino also indicated the camp of former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra alleged St. Pierre did the same in their April 2008 rematch.

I remember Serra's saying GSP was slippery in the post fight interview.

Machida impressed the hell out of me Saturday night. I really paid attention to his fighting style and technique this time and the guy was just flat out unbelievable. He definitely made a fan out of me.

Fedor best P4P imo...Lyoto Machida, GSP, and Silva are all right there close with Fedor. People don't throw out Machida in that talk because he's not the style they like, but he has annihilated world class opponents his entire career. Made Franklin look as silly as Silva did.

Chalk up another TOTAL ANNIHILATION for Machida...Rashad Evans is world class and got smoked as bad as any fighter ever in a title fight.
